  • Publication number: 20190159173
Abstract: A method of communicating data between a base station and a plurality of terminal devices in a wireless telecommunications system. The method comprises transmitting data from the base station to the plurality of terminal devices in a multicast transmission and transmitting response signals from the terminal devices to the base station to indicate whether the respective terminal devices have successfully received the multicast transmission. The use of a multicast transmission provides an efficient mechanism for communicating the same data to a plurality of terminal device, for example as might be desired in a machine-type communication network.

  • Patent number: 10281894
Abstract: Graphic element definitions are bound to industrial automation data types in an industrial control system. Moreover, a system provides automatic data searching and filtering of an item based on user interactions with either the graphic element definition or a controller data type. Further, a graphic element definition is associated with a data source type information, to simplify configuration of an instance of that graphic element and populate suitable data source fields based on instances of the associated data source type. In addition, a system to automatically generate the graphic element based on data from a logic controller is provided. Moreover, the graphic element can be updated to reflect a change in the data, without a manual refresh.

  • Patent number: 10274732
Abstract: In implementations of hologram focus accommodation, a focus accommodation system is implemented for variable focus of a generated image, such as a hologram, that is displayed for viewing on a waveguide display. The focus accommodation system includes switchable polarization retarders that rotate a polarization of light of the generated image, where the light passes through the switchable polarization retarders along an imaging path in which the generated image is viewable. The focus accommodation system also includes polarization sensitive gratings alternatingly interspersed with the switchable polarization retarders. Each of the polarization sensitive gratings are configurable to diffract the light in a first polarization state and transmit the light in a second polarization state. The variable focus is adjustable to a focal distance at which a user perceives viewing the generated image as displayed by the waveguide display.

  • Patent number: 10271302
Abstract: A method and apparatus for paging terminals such as Low Cost User Equipment (UEs) in a wireless communication system such as the Long Term Evolution (LTE) system. Terminals determine their signal quality level and, based on the signal quality, determine a number of repetitions of a message to use for decoding of the message. The message corresponds to part of a procedure for paging the terminal. The terminal receives and combines the determined number of repetitions of the message in order to decode the message.

  • Patent number: 10263400
Abstract: An actuator assembly for actuating electrical switches housed in an electrical enclosure is disclosed. The assembly includes at least one handle assembly including a handle positioned above a cover of the enclosure, a trip bracket positioned below the cover and a shaft connecting the handle to the trip bracket. At least one slider actuator is slidably mounted over the electrical switch and coupled to a toggle of the electrical switch. The slider actuator has a drive link which is adapted to be engaged with the trip bracket such that rotation of the handle causes the drive link to slide which in turn causes a linear movement of the slider actuator to toggle the electrical switch. The use of the slider actuator allows a higher density of electrical switches to be stacked inside the enclosure.

  • Publication number: 20190094285
Abstract: A utility meter includes a meter housing that supports at least one current coil, a temperature sensor, and a processing circuit coupled to both. The current coil can be coupled to receive heat energy from a meter socket. The temperature sensor disposed generates a sensor signal based on a temperature within the meter housing. The processing circuit obtains the sensor signal and generates meter temperature information based at least in part thereon. The processing circuit also obtains a first predetermined threshold based on at least one of time of day information and date information. The processing circuit also determines whether an abnormal condition exists by comparing the meter temperature information to a value based on the first predetermined threshold, and generates an output signal to a memory, display or communication circuit responsive to determining that the abnormal condition exists.

  • Patent number: 10242426
Abstract: Aspects include a multistage collector to receive outputs from plural processing elements. Processing elements may comprise (each or collectively) a plurality of clusters, with one or more ALUs that may perform SIMD operations on a data vector and produce outputs according to the instruction stream being used to configure the ALU(s). The multistage collector includes substituent components each with at least one input queue, a memory, a packing unit, and an output queue; these components can be sized to process groups of input elements of a given size, and can have multiple input queues and a single output queue. Some components couple to receive outputs from the ALUs and others receive outputs from other components. Ultimately, the multistage collector can output groupings of input elements. Each grouping of elements (e.g., at input queues, or stored in the memories of component) can be formed based on matching of index elements.

Abstract: An imaging device operates as an event camera. The device includes an event sensor and a controller. The sensor comprises a plurality of photodiodes that asynchronously output data values corresponding to relative intensity changes within a local area. The controller populates an event matrix based in part on data values asynchronously received from the sensor and positions of photodiodes associated with the received data values over a first time period. The controller populates a change matrix based in part on a threshold intensity value and the photodiodes associated with the received data values over the first time period, and generates an image for the first time period using the event matrix and the change matrix.
