  • Patent number: 6976024
Abstract: An apparatus and method is disclosed for aggregating API calls within a higher level Batch Submission API (BSA) having a sender BSA (SBSA) and a receiver BSA (RBSA). Specifically, one or more directory limit records needed for the restoration process on a particular server are grouped by the SBSA into one large buffer. The SBSA validates batch records prior to transmitting them to a receiver. The SBSA does not transmit the records if either (1) all of the records fail pre-submission validation or (2) a certain percentage of the records fail pre-submission validation. Once the SBSA has performed the pre-submission validation of the records, a buffer and count (BC) is transmitted to a receiver BSA (RBSA) at a second computer. The BC contains records passing pre-submission validation checks and a count of the records contained within the buffer. The RBSA would then process each of the directory limits records contained in the buffer at the second computer.

  • Publication number: 20050196432
Abstract: A process for coating a perforated substrate with a gel (e.g. a polymerised acrylate hydrogel or a xerogel) without substantial occlusion of the perforations comprises (i) forming a layer of a liquid pregel mixture, comprising one or more monomers, on a web coated with a silicone, polyethylene, Teflon (R) or other coating having a surface energy less than the surface energy of the liquid pregel mixture. Preferably at least part of the curing takes place while the liquid pregel mixture is in contact with both the perforated substrate and the web. The process is especially applicable to the manufacture of attachment tabs for wigs and toupees, wound dressings, patches for transdermal drug delivery, therapeutic patches or biomedical electrodes.

  • Publication number: 20040246270
Abstract: A method and apparatus for displaying annotations on a digital image such that the viewing area is simplified and maximized. Abbreviated reason codes are employed, thereby increasing the number of annotations that may be displayed concurrently with an image and reducing the obtrusiveness of the annotations. The abbreviated reason codes may provide information to viewers about the significance of the image. Viewers may configure where the annotations are displayed and may associate priorities with the reason codes such that annotations of interest may be displayed more prominently or accessibly. Likewise, text descriptions associated with an annotation may be hidden until requested by a viewer. In instances where the number of annotations exceeds some configurable threshold, the excess annotations may be hidden unless requested.

  • Patent number: 6745241
Abstract: A method and apparatus for configuring a server in a distributed data processing system is provided. The server receives a request for a function that specifies a first server name and a second server name. The server responds to requests directed to a set of server names that includes the first server name. The function executes on the server specified by the first server name, wherein the function dynamically modifies a membership of the second server name in the set of server names. The server names for the server are added or removed dynamically without halting or restarting the server.

  • Publication number: 20040100476
Abstract: A technique is provided for the displaying a visual aid tool to facilitate the review of image data which has undergone processing by one or more computer-implemented routines. In particular, the display of the visual aid tool does not obstruct structures of interest in the image which have been identified by the computer-implemented routines. The visual aid tool may allow the magnification of an identified structure, may display relevant information for reviewing the structure, and may allow toggling between result sets for different computer-implemented routines available to process the image data. In addition the visual aid tool may be customized to reflect the preferences or tendencies of individual operators.

  • Patent number: 5983615
Abstract: A harvester platform is suspended from the implement main frame by a linkage including a pair of lower transversely spaced links each having rear and front ends respectively pivotally attached to the main frame and the platform. Associated with each lower suspension link is a hydraulic float cylinder coupled between the main frame and the associated link so as to exert a lifting force on the link. The amount of lifting force exerted by each float cylinder may be varied by adjusting the location of the anchor pin connecting the cylinder to the main frame through means of an adjustable bracket that carries the anchor pin. Side-to-side float balance of the platform is achieved through properly adjusting the anchor pin locations so that the float cylinder at the heavier end of the platform exerts a greater lifting force than the float cylinder at the lighter end of the platform.

  • Patent number: 5881269
Abstract: Multiple users are emulated in a network environment by means of a multithreaded process in a client workstation. A plurality of client threads and associated network request queues are provided. Each client thread emulates a user in the network environment. A series of network requests is to a first network request queue associated with a first client thread. A harvester thread receives network traffic from a network application such as a redirector in the client workstation. The harvester filters the network traffic to assemble network requests and corresponding network responses. Once assembled, the network requests and network responses are placed in the first network request queue. Each of the series of network requests to a server in the network environment by the first client thread. The first client thread sequentially send each of the series of network requests to a next network request queue as each of the series of network requests are sent to the server.

  • Patent number: 5778644
Abstract: A self-propelled windrower is provided with a platform including a reel which sweeps crop to be cut over a sickle cutterbar and into the nip of a pair of counter-rotating center-feed augers that, in turn, deliver the crop to the nip of a pair of counter-rotating conditioner rolls; and these driven components may be reversed to disgorge slugs of crop. The reversible drive includes a hydraulic pump carried by the traction unit and coupled to a motor carried by the platform. The hydraulic motor on the platform is coupled to power a main gear box which distributes power to the driven components of the platform. Operation of the pump is electro-hydraulically controlled with a single switch being operable to effect forward operation of the platform drive train, and with a second switch being designed to be moved and held in place to effect and maintain the drive train in reverse.

  • Patent number: 5722259
Abstract: An integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC) power generation system is operated with a cryogenic air separation system which produces oxygen used in a gasification system to produce fuel gas for the IGCC combustion turbine and pressurized nitrogen which is introduced into the combustor for control of nitrogen oxides and increased combustion turbine output. The air separation system produces argon as an additional product, and the air separation system preferably operates in the feed pressure range of about 100 to about 160 psia. The compressed air feed for the air separation system and the compressed combustion air for the IGCC system are provided independently in separate compression steps.

  • Patent number: 5699385
Abstract: In a receiver for receiving a carrier modulated with data, there is provided a system for locating and tracking said carrier. The carrier is located by sweeping a frequency range containing said carrier. False lockup are inherent when a wide frequency sweep demodulator attempts to lock onto a carrier, and the system recognizes such lockups by monitoring data from a Viterbi error correction circuit. On false lockup, the system breaks the lockup and continues the sweep until the true data carrier is located and tracked.
