  • Publication number: 20220134338
Abstract: A biological sample processing apparatus having an enclosure and a plurality of sample processing modules held within an enclosure with a tiltable graphical user interface screen. In one aspect, the individual modules that are readily removable for repair, replacement or upgrade. Each module is configured to be independently operable and readily inserted into the enclosure for connection with a processing unit of the enclosure. Each module can include quick-release mechanisms so that the module can be readily removed and replaced manually or with minimal tools through the front of the enclosure without requiring substantial or total disassembly of the module or entire enclosure. In another aspect, the user interface screen can display identifying information, such as a barcode, that can be scanned by a user's portable device so as to monitor the progress of an assay remotely.

  • Patent number: 10953158
Abstract: The novel medicament devices comprise a housing that preferably contains a preloaded, conventional syringe with medication. Both trained and untrained users may administer an injection safely and conveniently to themselves or others in myriad settings. Certain of the disclosed embodiments rely on the user's manual action to insert the needle. Only after the needle is fully inserted is the medicament delivered, resulting in a safer injection. After use, the devices include a locking mechanism that locks a spring-loaded sheath in place around the needle for protection. As a common syringe is utilized, engineering and production issues of conventional automatic injectors are avoided.

  • Publication number: 20210038829
Abstract: A novel medicament device is disclosed having a body assembly for receiving a conventional syringe. The body assembly preferably includes an upper housing, an inner housing adapted to matingly engage the upper housing, a lower housing receiving the inner housing, and a sheath slideably contained within the lower housing. The device preferably further includes a sheath lock mechanism and a plunger lock mechanism. A sheath cap, which may include a needle cover stripper and stripper cap, may be disposed about the lower housing. With any of the disclosed embodiments, both trained and untrained users may administer an injection safely and conveniently to themselves or others. As a common syringe may be utilized, engineering and production issues of conventional automatic injectors are avoided. Moreover, with the disclosed devices, the syringe needle is not directly exposed and automatically locks out post injection, avoiding accidental needle sticks and unsuitable syringe disposal.

  • Patent number: 10247646
Abstract: A self-contained biological sample processing cartridge includes top and bottom portions that close together to form a sealed chamber therein. The chamber is configured to enable one of one or more biological sample staining procedures appropriate for a biological sample. The top portion includes a chamber top section and valve control elements. The bottom portion includes a chamber bottom section and fluidic valves. One of the fluid valves evacuates the contents of the chamber. One of the valve control elements couples to a respective fluidic valve to control fluid flow for the chamber. The cartridge includes a preloaded reagent component to supply the chamber with the reagent component appropriate for a particular biological sample staining procedure. A user desiring to conduct a particular biological sample staining procedure may select a particular cartridge that is preloaded with the preloaded reagent fluidic valves component appropriate for the particular biological sample staining procedure.
