  • Publication number: 20030051479
Abstract: The systems and methods of the invention offer a method for providing a corrective modulation signal to suppress an acoustic pressure wave in an operational system. The method includes sampling the acoustic pressure wave generated in the operational system and sampling a previously generated corrective modulation signal, the previously generated corrective modulation signal having parameters. The method further includes performing fast Fourier transform processing on the sampled acoustic pressure wave. A pair of single frequency discrete Fourier transform processing is performed on the sampled acoustic pressure wave. Also, the method includes determining the frequency, phase and magnitude of a dominate pressure wave in the acoustic pressure wave based on the fast Fourier transform processing and the discrete Fourier transform processing.

  • Publication number: 20030054893
Abstract: A constant velocity joint has an outer race, cage, and inner race where the opening of the cage is sized to be equal to or greater than the minimum projected height of the inner race to allow the inner race to transitionally slide through the opening and rotate within the cage to be installed therein. The lobes of the inner race are thicker than the length of the windows of the cage. All the windows have the same length.

  • Patent number: 6523140
Abstract: A method and implementing computer system is provided in which specific device identification information is acquired when a faulty condition is detected during an information transfer transaction, and the condition is reported to the device driver of the identified device for corrective action without initiating a system shut-down. In one example, PCI adapter sequence information, including tag number, requester bus number, requester device number and requester function number is captured and used in reporting an error condition in order to identify and isolate the adapter in a recovery operation.

  • Publication number: 20030033426
Abstract: An apparatus and method for implementing mulitcast in system area network channel adapters are provided. With the apparatus and method, a multicast packet is received in a channel adapter of an end node. The channel adapter determines which local queue pairs are party of the multicast group identified by a destination local identifier in the multicast data packet. Based on this determination, the channel adapter replicates the data packet and delivers a copy of the data packet to each local queue pair that is part of the multicast group.

  • Patent number: 6493779
Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided in which Pipelined Packet Transfers (PPT) are implemented. The PPT methodology includes a request phase and a response phase. The PPT request phase involves a PPT request master delivering to a PPT request target a source address, a destination address and an information packet for the interrupt being requested. The PPT response phase involves the PPT request target becoming a PPT response master with the PPT response master delivering to a PPT request master a destination address and a data packet which includes the interrupt processing information. Pipelined Packet transfers (PPT) are ordered in accordance with a predetermined processing priority to improve performance and avoid deadlock.

  • Patent number: 6480917
Abstract: A method and implementing system is provided in which multiple nodes of a PCI bridge/router circuit are connected to corresponding plurality of PCI busses to enable an extended number of PCI adapters to be connected within a computer system. Multiple enhanced arbiters are implemented to enable non-blocking and deadlock-free operation while still complying with PCI system requirements. An exemplary PCI-to-PCI router (PPR) circuit includes the arbiters as well as PPR buffers for temporarily storing transaction-related information passing through the router circuit between adapters on the PCI busses and/or between PCI adapters and the CPUs and system memory or other system devices. A buffer re-naming methodology is implemented to eliminate internal request/completion transaction information transfers between bridge buffers thereby increasing system performance.

  • Publication number: 20020161339
Abstract: An injector pack has a box which houses in separate positions a firing mechanism and a syringe housing. The firing mechanism has safe and cocked conditions and as it is located in the box it is constrained to adopt the safe condition by a sleeve grip being held against rotation while a protruding barrel co-operates with cams to rotate it. The firing mechanism when removed can be screwed by its barrel to the rear end of the syringe housing while that is held by the box, and then the whole injector can be withdrawn for use. The syringe is made operable by rotating the barrel to the cocked condition. Pressing the grip forwards then releases a plunger to act on the syringe. The previous retraction of the plunger can be done using a pillar formation upstanding within the box and over which the barrel can be sleeved.

  • Patent number: 6457077
Abstract: A method and implementing system is provided in which system bridge circuits are enabled to execute, or over-commit to, transaction requests from system devices for information transfers which exceed the bridge circuit's current capacity to receive the requested information on its return from a designated target device such as system memory or another system device. The transaction request is moved along the data path to the designated target device and the requested information is returned, in an example, to the requesting device. By the time the requested information is returned to the requesting bridge circuit, a number of the holding buffers usually have been freed-up and are available to accept and pass the information to the requesting device.

  • Publication number: 20020125215
Abstract: A method for chemical milling of a gas turbine engine blisk having a hub and a plurality of blades made of metal for the purpose of changing the dimensional characteristics (i.e., chord and/or thickness) of one or more of these blades. At least one blade of the blisk is treated with a chemical etchant of the metal that the blade is made of for a period of time sufficient to change at least one of the chord and thickness of the blade(s). In a preferred aspect of this method, at least one of the blades of a rotationally imbalanced blisk is treated with the chemical etchant for a period of time sufficient to change the chord and/or thickness of these blades so that the blisk is rotationally balanced.

  • Publication number: 20020121822
Abstract: A mechanical storage battery which includes, a battery housing (16) with all its internals, there is a central computer (14) that monitors and controls the Stabilizing Battery, there is also a throttle positioning sensor that activates and de-actives the motor/generator which is connected to the internal combustion engine (ICE) when add ional power output is required to assist the hybrid motor vehicle. Built into the central computer (14) housing there is a gyroscope (13) with its sensors are directly connected to the central computer (14). The central computer (14) monitors the sideways angle and the acceleration of the sideways angle of the of the motor vehicle. When the motor vehicle passes the acceptable level of lean and a roll over is about to happen, then the central computer (14) strategically informs the stators (12) which are placed 45 degrees off center of the movable rotors, how to function. Some of the stators (12) function like a generator and some of the stators function like a motor.
