  • Patent number: 9791357
Abstract: An overload indicator for a hoist includes first and second blocks that connect to the lifting medium (a chain for a chain hoist) at spaced locations. The first and second blocks are held at a spacing by indicator bands so that the lifting medium is slack between the blocks. The indicator bands have weakened portions to deform, stretch or break when subject to a load over a threshold, such as over a lifting capacity of the hoist. Covers are provided over the indicator bands that are closely spaced to define an indicator gap. If the indicator bands stretch, the indicator gap increases to indicate an overload condition.

  • Publication number: 20160339562
Abstract: In a work holding device, first and second work holding jaws are provided. A force conveying shaft connects between the first and second work holding jaws and is operable to move the first and second work holding jaws relative to one another. A handle connects to the force conveying shaft so that the handle is operable to operate the shaft to move the first and second work holding jaws relative to one another. A handle disengagement apparatus connects between the handle and the force conveying shaft and which is operable in a handle disengage position to disengage the handle from the force conveying shaft so that the handle may be moved without moving the work holding jaws relative to one another. The handle disengagement apparatus also has a handle engage position wherein a movement of the handle from the first position to the second position moves the work holding jaws relative to one another.

  • Publication number: 20160265410
Abstract: A product is disclosed for recovering heat and may include a housing with two flow paths defined through the housing. A number of tube assemblies may be disposed in the housing. The tube assemblies may comprise an inner tube and an outer tube with a space defined between the inner tube and the outer tube. One flow path may be defined through the inner tubes, and the other flow path may be defined outside the outer tubes. A phase change material may be disposed in the spaces of the tube assemblies. The phase change material may change phases when exposed to a temperature change.

  • Publication number: 20090055642
Abstract: A method, system and computer program is provided for protecting against one or more security attacks from third parties directed at obtaining user credentials on an unauthorized basis, as between a client computer associated with a user and a server computer is provided. The server computer defines a trusted Public Key Cryptography utility for use on the client computer. The Public Key Cryptography utility is operable to perform one or more cryptographic operations consisting of encrypting/decrypting data, authenticating data, and/or authenticating a sender, decrypting and/or verifying data. The user authenticates to the Public Key Cryptography utility, thereby invoking the accessing of user credentials associated with the user, as defined by the server computer. The Public Key Cryptography Utility facilitates the communication of the user credentials to the server computer, whether directly or indirectly via an authentication agent, the server computer thereby authenticating the user.

  • Publication number: 20070183115
Abstract: An apparatus for administering an incapacitating electric shock to a person is provided, which comprises a portable power source, at least one pair of electrodes operatively associated with the power source and that are configured to deliver an electric shock to the person's body, a locking mechanism configured to secure the electrodes at a desired position on said person's body and a remote control capable of generating and transmitting a signal to the power source that triggers the electric shock. The apparatus is operable such that the remote control may trigger an electric shock in a single power source, or in a plurality of power sources.

  • Publication number: 20070098752
Abstract: A quickly dissolving carrier granule made up of wood fibers, mineral filler, and starch-based or dextrin-based adhesive binder. The wood fibers in these granules are preferably wood fibers ranging from about 10 microns to about 2 mm in length. Typically, at least about 35 weight-% of the fibers are retained on a 50-Mesh U.S. Sieve Series screen. The wood fibers in this invention are derived from sources that are substantially free of resins such as urea-formaldehyde resin and of diphenylmethane diisocyanate resin. Typical binders are soluble dextrin binders or a viscous corn starch, wheat starch, rice starch, tapioca starch, potato starch, or sago starch binders. The granules have a Resistance to Attrition of at least 90%. Also disclosed is a method of making such granules.

  • Publication number: 20060244613
Abstract: Remote Controled Elecroshock Locking Bracelet Stun Device, worn around the wrist or ankle, used for subduing a person by administering an electric shock. This is a non-lethal means of restraining a prisoner. It is not intended to kill. It is a weapon to be used by correctional officers, police officers, CIA, FBI, military personnel, court room prisoner control officers. This is not a device to be sold to the general public. This is not meant to cause permanent damage to a person, only to temporarily stun a person with electrical current at levals less than fatal, but enough to incapacitate them.

  • Publication number: 20060121075
Abstract: Method for manufacturing carrier granules. The method forms a mixture comprising fibers, mineral filler, and binder. The mixture contains 32-48 weight-% wood fibers having a bulk density of less than 20 pounds per cubic foot, at least 35 weight-% of which fibers are retained on a 50-Mesh U.S. Sieve Series screen. The fibers have a moisture content of less than 15 weight-%. The mixture also contains 52-65 weight-% mineral filler having a moisture content of less than 12 weight-%. In addition, the mixture contains 3-7 weight-% binder. The mixture is agglomerated by conditioning and agglomerating it in a pin mixer to form small particles followed by agglomerating it in a disc or pan pelletizer to form substantially spherical granules. The method then dries the granules to a moisture content of less than about 5 weight-%, and screens the granules to select granules that pass through a 10-Mesh U.S. Pat. No. Sieve Series screen but are retained on a 40-Mesh U.S. Pat. No. Sieve Series screen.
