Abstract: Concepts and technologies are disclosed herein for providing and interacting with a feedback service. A processor such as a computing system or a server computer can execute a feedback service. The feedback service can detect activity associated with an item at a user device. The item can an item for sale and the activity can relate to a purchase of the item. The feedback service can generate a social networking post relating to the item. The social networking post can include a visual representation of the item and a solicitation for feedback from a social network. The feedback service can feedback relating to the social networking post. The feedback can include an opinion relating to the item and demographic information relating to an entity that provided the opinion. • Publication number: 20150082248
Abstract: A method and apparatus for a dynamic glyph based search includes an image server. The image server analyzes images to determine the content of an image. The image and data related to the determined content of the image are stored in an image database. A user can access the image server and search images using search glyphs. In response to selection of a generic-search glyph, the image server finds related images in the image database and the images are displayed to the user. In addition, refine-search glyphs are displayed to a user based on the selected generic-search glyph. One or more refine-search glyphs can be selected by a user to further narrow a search to specific people, locations, objects, and other image content.

  • Publication number: 20140324430
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media for selecting a speech recognition model in a standardized speech recognition infrastructure. The system receives speech from a user, and if a user-specific supervised speech model associated with the user is available, retrieves the supervised speech model. If the user-specific supervised speech model is unavailable and if an unsupervised speech model is available, the system retrieves the unsupervised speech model. If the user-specific supervised speech model and the unsupervised speech model are unavailable, the system retrieves a generic speech model associated with the user. Next the system recognizes the received speech from the user with the retrieved model. In one embodiment, the system trains a speech recognition model in a standardized speech recognition infrastructure. In another embodiment, the system handshakes with a remote application in a standardized speech recognition infrastructure.

  • Patent number: 8699673
Abstract: An interface prompts a user to enter a marker during a communications session, in which the user is able to later provide a subsequent version of the marker. Initially, a first version of the marker is received from the user. A processor associates the first version of the marker received from the user with a particular position in an information tree and stores the particular position in the information tree associated with the first version of the marker. A second version of the marker is received from the user and in response, the user is returned to the particular position in the information tree that has been stored and associated with the first version of the marker received from the user.

  • Patent number: 8620904
Abstract: A search based on one or more search terms is performed, and a subset of the returned search results is displayed. It is determined that a user has altered the position of an object located in multidimensional space. A first dimension of the multi-dimensional space corresponds to a variation in degree of a first filter criterion, and a second dimension corresponds to a variation in degree of a second filter criterion. The first and second filter criterion are different from the search terms and are not determined based on the search results. A value corresponding to each of the filter criteria is identified based on the position of the object in the first and second dimension, respectively. The search results are filtered based on each value to generate a second subset of the search results.

  • Patent number: 8600983
Abstract: Methods for providing group swarm metrics and content are described herein. In different aspects, the methods may include compiling a content access metric. The methods may also include determining a threshold metric for a user. Further, the methods may include generating a notification message for the user when the compiled content access metric reaches the threshold metric. The methods may additionally include delivering the notification message to the user. The techniques described herein may enable the user to retrieve the content.

  • Publication number: 20130268103
Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and media for filtering a data stream are provided. The data stream is partitioned into a plurality of data stream segments. An acoustic parameter of each of the data stream segments is measured, and it is determined whether the acoustic parameter of each of the data stream segments satisfies a predetermined condition. Extraneous segments of the data stream segments are identified in which the predetermined condition is satisfied, and it is determined whether the extraneous segments have a predetermined relationship in the data stream. The extraneous segments are deleted from the data stream to produce a filtered data stream in response to the extraneous segments having the predetermined relationship.

  • Patent number: 8538974
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media are provided for self-targeted content delivery. Content objects can be delivered to a user and indications from the user to mark any content object can be received thereby generating standard data structures to be placed into a central data store. At a later time, on various other systems, a content guide may be provided to the user showing the content related to the standard data structures placed in the central store. The user may mark digital content as it is encountered via television, internet, mobile devices, automobile terminals, public terminals, kiosks, or otherwise. Standardized data structures can allow the marking to operate across platforms, operating systems, hardware, and delivery modes. Content guides created from data structures associated with marked content can allow the marked content to be recalled and accessed from any of various other systems at a later time.

  • Patent number: 8457771
Abstract: A data stream is filtered to produce a filtered data stream. The data stream is analyzed based on an acoustic parameter to determine whether a predetermined condition is satisfied. At least one extraneous portion of the data stream, in which the predetermined condition is satisfied, is determined. Thereafter, the at least one extraneous portion is deleted from the data stream to produce the filtered data stream.

  • Patent number: 8156426
Abstract: Stylized digital content is rapidly created by reading a first file and a plurality of second files. The first file contains a digital content item and each second file contains at least one style definition. At least one display instance of stylized digital content is created by applying the style definition of one of the plurality of second files to the digital content item of the first file. The at least one display instance is mapped to a location on the display device. A location is received from a pointing device and one of the plurality of display instances is displayed based on the received location.

  • Publication number: 20120059690
Abstract: Detecting and devaluing non-pertinent input in an online social network includes setting triggers for user conduct that includes evaluating a unique content submission submitted to the online social network and detecting, at a tangible host server, when a trigger is activated based on user conduct by a first user. The first user is penalized based on the user conduct. An initial weighting value is assigned to the unique content submission submitted to the online social network based on the first user evaluating the unique content submission.

  • Publication number: 20110252338
Abstract: Unique content generated by a group of individual users is evaluated. First unique content provided by a first user via a social networking website interface is collected at a tangible host server. Second unique content provided by a second user via the social networking website interface is collected at the tangible host server. User input ratings from individual users of the social networking website interface are collected so as to rate the first unique content and second unique content. In a first evaluation stage, the first unique content and second unique content are evaluated based on user input from individual users of the social networking website interface so as to comparatively rank the first unique content and second unique content.
