  • Patent number: 9322215
Abstract: A ladder includes a leveler engages a bottom of each side rail for 1) causing extendable legs to move to a level ground-engaging position, 2) causing the legs to lock when both legs engage the ground, and 3) causing the extendable legs to move to a centered/retracted position when lifted from the ground. The leveler includes pawls, links, pinions, and a shaft forming a four-bar linkage for selectively moving the pawls inward to the disengaged position when the pinion and shaft are each freely rotatable, but selectively moving the pawl outward into locking engagement when the shaft resists movement due to ground engagement by both legs. The leveler can be constructed to attach to an inside of the side rails, thus facilitating pre-assembly.

  • Patent number: 7467022
Abstract: In a method for fabricating a hearing aid device, a patient visits an audiologist at a dispenser location, and is examined to determine electronic settings for a hearing aid to correct the patient's hearing impairment. At the same visit, an ear mold of the patient is obtained, which is scanned to produce a three-dimensional data set, from which a prototype is produced from the hearing aid data set, that does not contain any electronic components, and the prototype is test fitted with the patient. By interaction between the patient and the audiologist, the prototype is modified as needed. When the prototype is acknowledged by the patient as being a comfortable fit, the three-dimensional data that were used to create the acceptable prototype are electronically transmitted to a fabrication site, at which the hearing device is manufactured therefrom. The hearing device is then sent to a location at which it is available to the patient.

  • Patent number: 7322253
Abstract: An attachment for a fishing rod to respond to tension on the fishing line. In one mode it responds to a lateral pull on the rod tip. In another mode it responds to an axial pull on the line. It enables accurate adjustment of the drag, and can indicate when the tension on the line is in a safe or risky range relative to the rated stress of the line.

  • Publication number: 20070234571
Abstract: In a method for fabricating a hearing aid device, a hearing impaired person visits an audiologist at a dispenser location, and is examined to determine electronic settings for a hearing aid to correct the person's hearing impairment. At the same visit, an ear mold of the patient is obtained, which is scanned to produce a three-dimensional data set. A prototype is produced from the hearing aid data set, that does not contain any electronic components, and the prototype is test fitted with the patient. By interaction between the patient and the audiologist, the prototype is modified as needed, with each modification resulting in an updated three-dimensional data set being generated. When the prototype is acknowledged by the patient as being a comfortable fit, the three-dimensional data that were used to create the acceptable prototype are electronically transmitted to a fabrication site, at which the hearing device is manufactured therefrom.

  • Publication number: 20070138782
Abstract: A seat belt assembly for a vehicle that includes an anchor portion having an anchor bolt adapted to attach to a vehicle. A seat belt web is associated with the anchor portion. A sheath member is coupled to the anchor portion with the sheath member having opposing top and bottom surfaces and opposing side surfaces. The opposing top and bottom surfaces and opposing side surfaces define an interior cavity. The sheath member includes a plurality of detents formed on the opposing side surfaces. An extension plate having opposing proximal and distal ends as well as opposing top and bottom surfaces bounded by opposing lateral edges is slidingly disposed within the interior cavity of the sheath member. The extension plate includes a pair of arms formed on the opposing lateral edges. An extension arm formed about the extension plate includes first and second ends with the first end coupled to the proximal end of the extension plate. The second end of the extension arm includes a web guide formed on an end.

  • Publication number: 20070071616
Abstract: Driven-magnet assemblies are disclosed for use in magnetically actuated pumps such as gear pumps. An exemplary assembly includes a magnet-flux-ring assembly and a molded body. The magnet-flux-ring assembly includes a flux ring having inner and outer surfaces that are concentric around an axis, and multiple magnet segments at respective radial positions around the axis. Each magnet segment has a respective inner surface, outer surface, first end, second end, and lateral sides. The inner surfaces are attached side by side to the outer surface of the flux ring around the flux ring. The outer surfaces form an outer surface of the assembly. The molded body has at interior portion, a first end, and a second end. The interior portion is situated radially inwardly of, and attached to, the inner surface of the flux ring. The first end is integral with the interior portion and captures the first ends of the magnet segments relative to the flux ring.
