  • Publication number: 20040109096
Abstract: An optically transparent adhesive article for fastening the rear face of a display overlay to the front face of a display. The article includes first and second adhesive layers and an optional intervening backing layer. The first adhesive layer has sufficiently low tack so that the article is repositionable on the display of the display. The second adhesive layer has sufficient tack and the article has sufficient cohesive strength so that the article is stretch-releasable from the display overlay.

  • Publication number: 20020183770
Abstract: A surgical clamp for occluding a body conduit includes first and second jaws moveable relative to each other in a generally parallel relationship. A handle assembly is operable to move the jaws relative to each other between a space position and proximate position. The first jaw has an elongate configuration characterized by a length and a width. First portions of the first jaw have in cross section a first shape which remains generally constant in area along the first jaw, while second portions have in cross section a second shape which varies in area along the length of the first jaw. The resulting clamp has a low profile jaw design which dimensional-shaped cross section which provide increased stiffness and reduced flexibility.

  • Patent number: 5944450
Abstract: A buoyancy compensator for a scuba diver vest having a pocket on each side of the front of the vest, a weight module removably positioned in each pocket, each weight module includes an envelope releasably mounted in said pocket a weight packet carried within the envelope, a weight removably mounted in said envelope, a strap operatively connected to the envelope and releasably connected to the vest. The weight is dropped from the weight packet by pulling the weight packet from the pocket and the envelope is returned to the pocket by a pair of elastic bands.

  • Patent number: 5887713
Abstract: A holder for removably supporting a compact disc or other object with a hole in the center. The compact disc is supported by at least two arms which are held on a flexible step. The arms have an outwardly extending protrusion which holds the compact disc in place. When it is desired to remove the disc the arms are pressed from above and they hingedly move together and cause the compact disc to pop upwardly from the arms.

  • Patent number: 5685427
Abstract: A holder for removably supporting a compact disk. The compact disk is held by its center opening over a post and under a ridge on the outer surface of the post. As the top of the post is pushed downwardly, the outer surface of the post moves inwardly and the ridge compresses and moves downwardly and allows the opening in the compact disk to pass over it. The compact disk is thus easily removed by simply pushing the center of the disk holding post. Preferably, the grooves are spiral shaped.

  • Patent number: 4850425
Abstract: A melter for adhesives such as hot melt adhesives or the like including a high melt zone having high melt heater means for heating the adhesive in the high melt zone to a preselected application temperature, a feed hopper positioned vertically above the high melt zone and a cooling mechanism positioned vertically above the high melt heater means to create a thermal barrier between the high melt heater means and the feed hopper to prevent migration of heat from the high melt zone to the feed hopper. The present invention also relates to a method for preparing adhesives for application including heating the adhesive to a preselected application temperature in a high melt zone and forming a thermal barrier in an area vertically above the high melt zone to limit the upward migration of heat from such zone.

  • Patent number: 4846373
Abstract: An apparatus for proportioning and dispensing at least two different fluid compositions having different degrees of compressibility includes a cartridge having therein plural separate chambers for containing separate fluid compositions to be proportioned and dispensed. A neck portion is provided at a discharging end of the cartridge. Plural separate passageways extend through the neck portion, each passageway opening into a separate respective chamber. Structure is provided for controlling the flow of the fluid compositions through the respective passageways, for preventing run-on of the fluid compositions through the respective passageways due to decompression of the fluid compositions upon removal of an extruding pressure, and thereby for preventing dispensing of the fluid compositions through the respective passageways in proportional ratios other than a desired predetermined proportional ratio. Such structure includes a valve member having therethrough plural passage portions.

  • Patent number: 4366919
Abstract: A composite cartridge contains in separated condition therein, two different fluid compositions which cure on mixing, plus structural components for making such a cartridge. The cartridge has an elongated cylindrical main body with a protruding round neck at its head end and with plunger-movable closure means at its butt end. One composition is enclosed in an inner central chamber having a disc-like closure. The other is in an outer ring chamber oriented coaxially about the central chamber and having a donut-like closure. Each chamber is connected to a separate passageway through the neck of the cartridge, and each passageway has a voidable seal. A structure solely at the head end braces the central chamber against relative movement within the cartridge during plunger extrusion of the compositions. A fastening device on the cartridge neck is for locking a mixing nozzle thereon.
