Abstract: A layered fiber optic cable having a compressible layer for protecting the fiber optic core from damaging displacement due to force from the freezing of trapped ambient water. As ambient water within a protective conduit freezes, the water expands, applying a force on the fiber optic cable within the conduit. The compressible layer absorbs the expansion of the freezing water by compressing, therefore minimizing displacement of the fiber optic core and resulting signal degradation.

Abstract: Exemplary embodiments include an adapter for test equipment. The adapter includes a positive connector for making electrical connection with a first telecommunications line and a positive lead connected to the positive connector. A negative connector makes electrical connection with a second telecommunications line and a negative lead is connected to the negative connector. A low pass filter is connected to the positive lead and negative lead. A positive butt-set connection is connected to the low pass filter and a negative butt-set connection is connected to the low pass filter.

Abstract: An apparatus for receiving and retaining an independently powered light includes an elongated molded body having a first aperture extending through the length of the elongated molded body. The first aperture is further adapted to receive and retain the independently powered light. The elongated molded body also has a second aperture extending through the length of the elongated molded body. The second aperture is also adapted for attachment to a tool.

Abstract: An apparatus for guiding fish tape through a conduit includes a rounded head having an abutting end, a stabilizing skirt and an attachment mechanism. The stabilizing skirt is attached to the rounded head at the abutting end of the rounded head. In addition, the attachment mechanism is connected to the rounded head within the stabilizing skirt.

Abstract: Disclosed is a fish tape comprising a plurality of substantially round forms including a circular outer diameter with and without a cable attaching mechanism, a plurality of facets about the diameter, an elliptical outer diameter, a spiral groove extending along a longitudinal portion, one or more notches about the diameter and forming a repeating pattern along the longitudinal portion, and one or more corrugations about the diameter and extending along the longitudinal portion. Also disclosed is a fish tape device that includes the various fish tape forms described.

The hooking member includes a plate section, an elbow section, and an abutment section. The plate section is for longitudinal alignment along the free end of the tape rule. The elbow section upwardly curves from the plate section to the abutment section. The abutment section downwardly curves to a substantially perpendicular orientation to the plate section, and the abutment section downwardly extends below the tape rule. The hooking member is positioned to an article to be measured, and the abutment section contacts and frictionally engages an edge of the article.

The apparatus also includes at least three apertures through the molded body where at least one aperture is positioned on an opposite side of the passage. At least one fastener is adapted to mount the molded body to the mounting structure while the molded body is adapted to prevent the at least one fastener from abutting the wire.

Abstract: An apparatus for guiding wire into or out of a raceway includes a raceway attachment, a retainer and a wire guide. The wire guide is attached to the raceway attachment by the retainer. Further, the wire guide is capable of receiving and guiding the wire such that the wire does not contact an end of a raceway.

Abstract: A wire protector for protecting a wire during mounting of the wire on a mounting surface includes a retaining member configured to engage the wire. The retaining member includes a top portion and first and second arms extending generally perpendicularly from the top portion. Junctures between the top portion and the first and second arms are arcuate to engage the wire therein. At least one securing member is connected with the retaining member and adapted to position the retaining member on the surface.
