  • Patent number: 8216867
Abstract: A wafer of light emitting diodes (LEDs) is laser scribed to produce a laser scribing cut. Then, the wafer is cleaned, for example by wet etching, to reduce scribe damage. Then, electrical contact layers for the LEDs are formed on the wafer that has been cleaned. Alternatively, the scribing cut may be produced by multiple etches before contact formation. Related LEDs are also described.

Abstract: Described herein are a channel, system and method for monitoring voltages. Typically, the system includes multiple channels, each for sampling one of the voltages. The channels are physically and electrically coupled to a back end board on which is mounted a field programmable gate array (FPGA) that instructs the channels to simultaneously sample the voltages. Optionally, the channel is powered using an power supply that is isolated from the back end board, and transmits information over an electrically isolated connection to the back end board. The channel also includes voltage signal processing circuitry for processing the voltage signal on board the channel, and has stored on it channel identification information composed of at least one of an operating mode of the channel and a serial number of the channel, which can assist with voltage signal processing.

  • Patent number: 8081665
Abstract: Asynchronous/plesiochronous digital hierarchy (PDH) signals, such as DS1 and E1, are transported using virtual concatenation. The packetized data signals are frame encapsulated and subsequently inverse multiplexed into a plurality of PDH frames. An overhead packet is inserted in the transmitted frames to enable the receiver to determine the status of the frames and extract the differential delay experienced by various frames as they are routed through virtually concatenated channels. The extracted delays enables the receiver to realign the various frames of the PDH signal to reconstitute the originally transmitted signals that travel through different paths of the transport network linking the source and sink of the virtually concatenated channel.

  • Publication number: 20110246540
Abstract: In accordance with embodiments, there are provided mechanisms and methods for automatically updating a software QA test repository in a database system. These mechanisms and methods for automatically updating a QA test repository can enable embodiments to quickly and accurately update a test repository without requiring a user to repeatedly enter test case documentation data. These mechanisms and methods for automatically updating a QA test repository can also enable embodiments to extract plain language descriptions of test cases in the test repository. The ability of embodiments to automatically update the test repository and provide descriptions for the test cases stored in the test repository allows developers to efficiently update and share the contents of the test repository.

  • Patent number: 8020077
Abstract: Systems and methods correct multiplied errors generated by feedback taps in self-synchronous descramblers. The multiplication of errors degrades the performance of most linear cyclic error check codes. Disclosed techniques are general applicable to multiplied errors even when those errors are not confined to a single block. Disclosed techniques permit a reduction in the amount of forward error correction used. For example, in general, to correct t errors, a linear cyclic error correction code requires a Hamming distance of at least 1+(2t)[wt(s(x))]. Embodiments of the invention allow correcting the multiplied errors with a Hamming distance of only 1+(t)(1+wt(s(x))) over the block size n, wherein wt(s(x)) is the weight of the scrambler polynomial s(x).
