  • Patent number: 8033811
Abstract: A digital manufacturing system for producing first and second objects comprises a platen, a gantry, a pantograph extrusion head system and first and second sets of extruders. The platen defines a workspace upon which the objects are produced. The gantry defines a headspace displaced from the workspace. The extrusion head system is mounted to the gantry for movement in the headspace. The sets of extruders are connected to the extrusion head system and are configured to deposit extrusion material on the workspace to build the objects. Each set of extruders comprises a first extruder mounted to the extrusion head system; a second extruder mounted to the extrusion head system so as to be actuatable from a first to a second position; and a flexible linkage connecting the extruders. The flexible linkages position the second extruders in approximately equal known spatial relationships to the first extruders in the second positions.

  • Publication number: 20110246540
Abstract: In accordance with embodiments, there are provided mechanisms and methods for automatically updating a software QA test repository in a database system. These mechanisms and methods for automatically updating a QA test repository can enable embodiments to quickly and accurately update a test repository without requiring a user to repeatedly enter test case documentation data. These mechanisms and methods for automatically updating a QA test repository can also enable embodiments to extract plain language descriptions of test cases in the test repository. The ability of embodiments to automatically update the test repository and provide descriptions for the test cases stored in the test repository allows developers to efficiently update and share the contents of the test repository.

  • Patent number: 8020077
Abstract: Systems and methods correct multiplied errors generated by feedback taps in self-synchronous descramblers. The multiplication of errors degrades the performance of most linear cyclic error check codes. Disclosed techniques are general applicable to multiplied errors even when those errors are not confined to a single block. Disclosed techniques permit a reduction in the amount of forward error correction used. For example, in general, to correct t errors, a linear cyclic error correction code requires a Hamming distance of at least 1+(2t)[wt(s(x))]. Embodiments of the invention allow correcting the multiplied errors with a Hamming distance of only 1+(t)(1+wt(s(x))) over the block size n, wherein wt(s(x)) is the weight of the scrambler polynomial s(x).

  • Patent number: 7871378
Abstract: This invention is a system, an apparatus and a method for measuring biomechanical properties of cornea and the intraocular pressure in vivo. More than one dimensional topographic information of the cornea is recorded and analyzed before and during the fluid discharge and converted to the stress-strain relationship and other cornea parameters, for example the cornea thickness and radius of curvature, etc. The deformation of cornea is initiated by a non-contact fluid discharge whose profile is predetermined and monitored in real time. Utilizing this non-contact topographer, the true intraocular pressure can be derived from the response of the cornea due to the impact of fluid discharge and the corneal topographic parameters. One embodiment of this invention includes the use of a multiple color strobe light/multiple detector system to record the corneal topographic deformation due to the impact of fluid discharge.

  • Patent number: 7873083
Abstract: A system, apparatus, and method may provide laser beams of two or more wavelengths from diode pumped solid-state laser sources (220, 222, 224). The beam paths of these laser beams with different wavelengths, which are generated by the laser sources (220, 222, 224), may be aligned along a common optical axis 280 by an optical configuration, to treat at least one target area. Frequency-doubled laser beams, output from a plurality of diode pumped solid state laser cavities, may be passed through fold mirrors (M2, M5, M8), and combined on a common optical axis 280, using one or more combiner mirrors (M10, M11, M12), to unify the beam paths. Selected laser beams may be delivered to a target using one or more delivery systems.

  • Publication number: 20100314633
Abstract: A wafer of light emitting diodes (LEDs) is laser scribed to produce a laser scribing cut. Then, the wafer is cleaned, for example by wet etching, to reduce scribe damage. Then, electrical contact layers for the LEDs are formed on the wafer that has been cleaned. Alternatively, the scribing cut may be produced by multiple etches before contact formation. Related LEDs are also described.

  • Patent number: 7797889
Abstract: In one embodiment, an apparatus is provided. The apparatus includes a first rail coupled to a second rail, a third rail coupled to the second rail, and a fourth rail coupled to the first rail and the third rail. The apparatus may form a rectangular frame from the four rails. The rails may be coupled through use of corner connectors or may be mitered and coupled through use of brackets in an abutting relationship. Additionally, further rails may be added by interposing the additional rails between a pair of the first, second, third and fourth rails, to extend the frame, and such additions may involve connectors or abutting rails and brackets, for example. The rails may have support ledges. Alternatively, the rails may have slots allowing for support brackets which slide along the slots. Moreover, the rails may be anchored using roof anchoring components to various surfaces.
