  • Publication number: 20240178785
Abstract: Apparatus and associated methods relate to a post temperature calibration translation circuit (PTCTC) configured to generate a signal corresponding to a predetermined temperature voltage translation relationship (TVTR). In an illustrative example, the PTCTC may be coupled to a motor controller including a control logic to regulate a power input to a motor based on the TVTR. The PTCTC further includes an input port configured to receive a temperature sensor output based on a predetermined transfer function. At least one analog corrective translation circuit (ACTC), for example, may generate temperature input signals to the motor power controller based on the temperature sensor output. The temperature input signals are generated based on a calibrated transfer function such that the temperature input signals substantially match an output according to the TVTR. Various embodiments may advantageously avoid modification of the control logic when the predetermined transfer function is altered.

  • Publication number: 20240174320
Abstract: The disclosed method may include configuring one or more brakes based on a braking-related attribute expected at a geographic location being traversed by a personal mobility vehicle. By configuring the application of brakes of a personal mobility vehicle based on terrain, environmental conditions, and other geographic features, the system may reduce the risk of the vehicle skidding or tipping due to over-braking. In some embodiments, a rider may use a single brake lever to indicate a desire to brake and the system may make determinations about how to apply a combination of mechanical and electrical brakes to front and back wheels based at least in part on the location of the personal mobility vehicle. By configuring brake engagement based on a combination of controls and map data, the system may improve user experience and user safety, especially for inexperienced riders.

  • Publication number: 20240174555
Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods of reusing at least a portion of the scrap glass generated in a cellular glass manufacturing process by introducing the scrap glass back into a cellular glass manufacturing process. The methods comprise changing the overall glass composition allowing for higher oxidizer content, which, in turn, allows for inclusion of more scrap material in the glass melt and the cellular glass production process. In particular, the glass composition in the melt is treated to increase the amount of an oxidizer (e.g., MnO2) to amounts above those that are used in conventional manufacturing processes, while also maintaining important physical properties in the ultimate cellular glass product.

  • Publication number: 20240174256
Abstract: Techniques are discussed herein for generating trajectories for controlling motion and/or other behaviors of vehicles in driving environments. In particular, techniques are described herein for using a tree search to determine a trajectory for a vehicle to join a driving route from an initial vehicle state off of the driving route structure. A vehicle computing system may determine various candidate trajectories, including trajectories based on an off-route inertial reference frame, additional trajectories based on the route structure, perturbed trajectories, etc. The set of candidate trajectories may be optimized and/or filtered based on objects in the environment, and the corresponding candidate actions may be used to generate a search tree between the off-route vehicle state and an on-route target state.

  • Publication number: 20240175231
Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatus are disclosed involving scour protection of undersea monument foundations, such as monopile foundations. A preferred embodiment comprises an Advanced Ecological Scour Protection System (AESPS) that enhances offshore scour protection through an innovative combination of eco-friendly engineering units and natural materials. In a preferred embodiment, an AESPS includes two main features comprising a single-layer rock blanket deployed first at an intended site of the foundation, followed by installation of fronded eco-concrete mattress units to form a peripheral ring border around the rock blanket. The foundation then may be installed directly into and through the rock blanket, with a monument installed on the foundation, and an export cable extending from the monument, over the mattress units, and through the fronds. Such an AESPS may eliminate critical risks of secondary scour damage, cable lateral movement, and marine life deterioration.
