  • Patent number: 10011513
Abstract: Apparatuses and methods of forming hollow spheres are provided. Hollow sphere forming apparatus incorporate a bubble forming nozzle assembly in which outlets for gas and liquid materials are disposed substantially coaxially. The relative positions of the gas and liquid outlets are adjustable in at least one dimension (e.g., axially, radially or angularly relative to each other), such that a more uniform annular exit region for the gas and liquid outlets may be configured, such that more symmetric bubbles may be formed thus reducing the rejection rate in solidified bubbles due to asymmetry or decentering of entrapped gas.

  • Patent number: 10015318
Abstract: In one embodiment, a system provides for end-user control over the automatic recognition of communication situations by detection of unique telecommunication event characteristics and the consequential responses to those situations by invocation of related programmatic responses. The system allows an end user to specify various patterns of telecommunication event characteristics that describe various situational aspects of incoming communications, such as the timing and originator of voice calls, the content of, timing of, and author of chat messages, etc., as well as appropriate sets of programmatic response actions to be performed in response to those communications, such as initiating conference calls, sending chat messages, routing calls to other users, etc.

A tibial prosthesis system for implantation on a resected tibia can include a bearing component, a base component, and a shim component. The insertion of the shim component can provide spacing adjustment between the bearing and base components. The shim component can have a generally uniform height or thickness, or a variable height. A cut guide attachment, removably attachable to the prosthesis system, can be used to facilitate further resection of the tibia and create one or more additional resection surfaces on the tibia at an angle relative to the first resection surface. Multiple cut guide attachments can be available to the user to provide various resection angles. The cut guide attachment can include a modular design. The cut guide attachment can be configured to adjust the angle of the subsequent resection in at least one direction.

  • Patent number: 10013697
Abstract: Methods and systems for analyzing vehicle operation data associated with a temporary or periodic usage of a vehicle by a driver. In aspects, the driver may associate with an electronic device within the vehicle that may record or collect the vehicle operation data. After the vehicle operation has concluded, the vehicle operation data may be analyzed to assess a performance of the driver during operation of the vehicle, whereby the performance may be influenced by positive or negative driving events. Based on the performance of the driver, a profile or account of the user may be processed accordingly such that the user may be incentivized to modify certain driving behaviors.

  • Patent number: 10010882
Abstract: A microfluidic device can comprise at least one swept region that is fluidically connected to unswept regions. The fluidic connections between the swept region and the unswept regions can enable diffusion but substantially no flow of media between the swept region and the unswept regions. The capability of biological micro-objects to produce an analyte of interest can be assayed in such a microfluidic device. Biological micro-objects in sample material loaded into a microfluidic device can be selected for particular characteristics and disposed into unswept regions. The sample material can then be flowed out of the swept region and an assay material flowed into the swept region. Flows of medium in the swept region do not substantially affect the biological micro-objects in the unswept regions, but any analyte of interest produced by a biological micro-object can diffuse from an unswept region into the swept region, where the analyte can react with the assay material to produce a localized detectable reaction.

  • Patent number: 10012440
Abstract: A foam drying apparatus is provided. The apparatus is configured to pass air, and in some cases heated and/or dried air, through a quantity of foam. This air passing through the foam absorbs or otherwise carries moisture out of the foam, drying it. The apparatus may utilize a pressure differential on opposite sides of the foam, causing air on the higher pressure side to pass through the foam. Typical applications may include the drying of foam assemblies which use water based adhesives to accelerate drying of the adhesive and/or removal of water from the foam assembly, and packaging of the foam assembly.
