Abstract: A roadgraph may include a graph network of information such as roads, lanes, intersections, and the connections between these features. The roadgraph may also include one or more zones associated with particular rules. The zones may include locations where driving is typically challenging such as merges, construction zones, or other obstacles. In one example, the rules may require an autonomous vehicle to alert a driver that the vehicle is approaching a zone. The vehicle may thus require a driver to take control of steering, acceleration, deceleration, etc. In another example, the zones may be designated by a driver and may be broadcast to other nearby vehicles, for example using a radio link or other network such that other vehicles may be able to observer the same rule at the same location or at least notify the other vehicle's drivers that another driver felt the location was unsafe for autonomous driving.

Abstract: A burner nozzle for delivering fuel to a burner flame in a furnace includes an inner cylinder and an outer cylinder that are both hollow. The inner cylinder is at least partly disposed within the outer cylinder and axially aligned with it, and is movable in an axial direction relative to the outer cylinder. One end of the inner cylinder has at least one outward projection extending in a radial direction from the outer surface of the cylinder, this projection serving to decrease the free cross-sectional area between the inner cylinder and the outer cylinder at that end of the inner cylinder.

Abstract: An electromagnetic device includes a jig and multiple wires. The jig includes a center member and coil-separating blocks. The coil-separating blocks protrude from the center member and are separated from each other to provide a coil channels. Each of the wires is wrapped on the jig, around the center member, and in one of the coil channels to form one of a multiple coils. Each of the coils is configured to connect to an electromagnetic navigation system and generate respective electromagnetic fields to be emitted relative to a subject.

The method is implemented in a school comprising students of mixed-age and/or mixed-grade level. Abstract: Embodiments relate to determining a process outcome based on a computed probability and altering the path of a process instance based on an expediting rule. An aspect includes executing, by a processing device, a process instance in a process diagram, which includes a plurality of process steps. A condition associated with a first process step is identified. An outcome for the first process step is then determined based on a computed probability. Accordingly, the first process step is bypassed and the process instance is branched to a second process step based on an expediting rule. The expediting rule includes the condition and a branching action according to a selected outcome.

Abstract: A method is disclosed for operating a device that treats sleep disordered breathing (SOB) during successive treatment sessions, where the device provides continuous positive airway pressure during sleep. The method comprises the steps of applying a constant treatment pressure during a first session and deriving a sleep disorder index (SOl) representative of the number of SOB episodes that occurred during the first session. If the treatment pressure should be increased based upon the derived SOl, it is increased during a second, subsequent session.

Abstract: Compositions having a mixture of functional perfume components are provided. In one embodiment, the functional perfume components comprise iso-nonyl acetate, dihydro myrcenol, linalool, and benzyl acetate. In one embodiment, the functional perfume component may be present in an amount from about 75% to about 100%, by weight of said mixture, wherein said composition is substantially free of a VOC.

Abstract: A system and method for auditing and verifying that a buyer is being charged a correct price for a good by a distributer before the distributer transports the good to the buyer. The system reviews a proposed invoice at an individual good level and reviews the transportation cost associated with each good. If a variance between an expected cost and a proposed invoice cost is determined, the audit system automatically generates electronic exception files detailing the variance for transmitting to the distributor. The system also provides for post-invoice auditing of the price paid for both a good and transportation costs associated with the delivery of the good to verify that the cost charged to the buyer was correct.

Abstract: A simulator facilitating virtual welding activity. The simulator may include a logic processor based subsystem operable to generate an interactive welding environment in virtual reality space that emulates welding activity by simulating a virtual weld puddle having dynamic, real time molten metal fluidity and heat dissipation characteristics, responsive to performing a simulated welding activity in real time. The simulator may include a foot pedal device in operative communication with the logic processor based subsystem and configured to affect a characteristic of the virtual weld puddle in real time, responsive to user control of the foot pedal device. The simulator may be configured to track the movements of a mock welding tool and a mock filler wire and determine interaction between the virtual weld puddle, a corresponding virtual welding tool, and a corresponding filler wire in virtual reality space that would result in the welding tool becoming contaminated.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media for selecting a speech recognition model in a standardized speech recognition infrastructure. The system receives speech from a user, and if a user-specific supervised speech model associated with the user is available, retrieves the supervised speech model. If the user-specific supervised speech model is unavailable and if an unsupervised speech model is available, the system retrieves the unsupervised speech model. If the user-specific supervised speech model and the unsupervised speech model are unavailable, the system retrieves a generic speech model associated with the user. Next the system recognizes the received speech from the user with the retrieved model. In one embodiment, the system trains a speech recognition model in a standardized speech recognition infrastructure. In another embodiment, the system handshakes with a remote application in a standardized speech recognition infrastructure.

Abstract: A box hanger clip is provided for coupling to an electrical box for supporting the electrical box during use. The box hanger clip has at least one and typically two L-shaped coupling tabs that are received in apertures in a wall of the electrical box and hook to the inner surface of the electrical box. The box hanger clip has a body extending substantially perpendicular from the coupling tabs away from the electrical box where the body is configured for coupling to a support such as a cable. At least one bendable stabilizing tab is provided on the body of the box hanger clip which can be bent out of the plane of the body. The stabilizing tab contacts the outer surface of the electrical box to maintain the box hanger clip in the upright position.

Abstract: Techniques for providing a proxy service are disclosed. In an embodiment, a proxy system includes a proxy service module and a scripting engine. The proxy service module is configured to intercept and process messages that travel between user devices and the Internet and the scripting engine is in communication with the proxy service module and is configured to manage a plurality of scripts that are written in one or more scripting languages. The proxy service module is configured to intercept a message that travels to the proxy service module and that is related to a user device, to associate a script with the intercepted message, and to cause the script to be executed at one of the user device, the proxy system, or a system that is external to the user device and the proxy system depending on the function associated with the script.

Abstract: A method begins by a processing module of a dispersed storage network (DSN) detecting a likelihood of having a missing encoded data slice based on local physical to DSN address mapping information. When the likelihood of having the missing encoded data slice exists, the method continues with the processing module sending a query regarding the missing encoded data slice to another storage unit of the DSN and receiving a response to the query from the other storage unit. When the response includes identity of a related encoded data slice of a set of encoded data slices, the method continues with the processing module commencing execution of a rebuilding function to generate a new encoded data slice to replace the missing encoded data slice.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a system and method for identifying a hot bearing. A processor may be configured for receiving a plurality of infrared (IR) signals emitted by a bearing as the bearing passes through a view window being monitored by one or more IR sensing elements positioned to receive IR radiation emitted from a target area of the bearing. The processor may extract IR data from IR signals emitted from an area within the target area of the bearing defined by a narrow window extending along a longitudinal axis for a length corresponding to substantially an entire length of the bearing. The processor may also establish a characteristic thermal profile from the extracted IR data, the characteristic thermal profile exhibiting identifiable boundaries of an area of interest on the bearing. The processor may compare temperatures of the bearing within the area of interest to a threshold, and produce an alarm signal if temperatures of the bearing within the area of interest exceed the threshold.
