In particular, establishing an augmented relationship connection between a first user account and a second user account in response to the setting of a first user augmented relationship indicator and the setting of a second user augmented relationship indicator. Existence of the augmented relationship connection enables additional functionality for interaction between the first user account and the second user account within the social networking environment. However, the setting of the augmented relationship indicator by the first user to indicate the second user is not discoverable by the second user prior to the second user independently setting their own augmented relationship indicator to indicate the first user, and vice versa.

Abstract: An electrical contact device may include an insulating first body having a first surface, one or more electrical contacts received in the first body and protruding a distance from the first surface, and an insulating second body configured to prevent access by an object such as a human body portion to the protruding electrical contacts. The second body may include a first side wall and a second side wall which are configured to allow the one or more electrical contacts protruding from the first surface to be interposed between the first and second side walls. The first and second side walls may define a width smaller than a dimension of an object such as a body portion so that access by the object to the one or more electrical contacts protruding from the first surface can be prevented.

Abstract: An eyewash dispensing container to store and deliver an eyewash fluid that is particularly suitable for terminal sterilization. The container includes a base and a locking lid with a tamper indicator. The container is able to be opened quickly and deliver the eyewash fluid directly to an eye of a user.

Abstract: A system and method for providing a location based service to create a social network, comprising activating a feature from a wireless terminal, registering from the wireless terminal with a location based service associated with the feature, creating a profile of a user of the feature, and displaying candidates based on the profile and based on the geographic location of the candidates. A Global Positioning System (GPS) may be used to geographically locate active users of a feature. An activity map may be associated with a feature, the activity map displaying active users of the feature.

Abstract: A system and method is provided that improves the under frequency response of gas turbines by providing a fast-response power augmentation system. The system includes a tank storing a blended mixture of motive fuel such as ethanol or methanol and demineralized water in a predetermined ratio that is provided as a diluent to be injected into the compressor bellmouth, the Compressor Discharge Chamber (CDC), and/or the combustion system via one to three dedicated circuits. To achieve the instantaneous injection of the diluent at the correct pressure and for the appropriate duration to meet the needs of the gas turbine Grid compliance mandate, an accumulator is used as the motive force to drive the augmentation fluid in the dedicated circuits. The injected diluent is microprocessor controlled to either be simultaneous into all three circuits or is sequenced based on a determination of the best turbine control and performance.

Abstract: A valve assembly in an internal combustion engine fuel system includes a valve member movable within a valve body to contact a valve seat and block fluid communication between first and second passages. The valve seat and valve member each include a multi-layered coating having a harder metal nitride base layer and a softer metal nitride outer layer. The base layer is relatively incompliant to impacts between the valve member and the valve seat, and the outer layer is relatively compliant to the impacts and thereby deformable. Related methodology is disclosed.

Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure provide a method for removing residual BPA from a residual BPA-containing substance and a method for making a container with residual BPA removed. The method may consist of preparing a stabilization reagent, wherein water is removed from the stabilization reagent. The method may also include preparing the residual BPA-containing substance. The method may also include reacting the residual BPA-containing substance in a melt condensation process with the stabilization reagent, wherein the stabilization reagent is non-toxic.

Abstract: The invention provides a display interface in a social networking system that enables the presentation of information related to a user in a timeline or map view. The system accesses information about a user of a social networking system, including both data about the user and social network activities related to the user. The system then selects one or more of these pieces of data and/or activities from a certain time period and gathers them into timeline units based on their relatedness and their relevance to users. These timeline units are ranked by relevance to the user, and are used to generate a timeline or map view for the user containing visual representations of the timeline units organized by location or time. The timeline or map view is then provided to other users of the social networking system that wish to view information about the user.

In particular, the invention provides pharmacologically active agents, compositions, methods and/or dosing schedules that have certain advantages compared to the agents, compositions, methods and/or dosing schedules that are currently used and/or known in the art, including the ability to dose less frequently or to administer lower doses to obtain equivalent effects in inhibiting IL-6 mediated signaling.

Abstract: An apparatus and method of securing and maintaining the integrity of desired information on a ribbon and media subsequent to a printing operation is provided. The apparatus and method includes a thermal transfer printer having a print station and a printhead operable for performing a printing operation. The printhead is capable of performing an initial print operation and then being raised from the media, thereby allowing the used ribbon to be rewound a predetermined distance about a supply spindle. Thereafter, a second print operation is performed on the space previously printed upon using characters, designs or block-out patterns and the used ribbon is then wound onto a take-up spindle. In exemplary embodiments, the used ribbon can also be reprinted with a waste media several times thus further obscuring the image on the used ribbon.

Abstract: A flexible light sheet includes a thin substrate that allows light to pass through it, a transparent first conductor layer overlying the substrate, an array of vertical light emitting diodes (VLEDs) printed as an ink over the first conductor layer, each of the VLEDs having a bottom electrode electrically contacting the first conductor layer, a dielectric material between the VLEDs overlying the first conductor layer, and a transparent second conductor layer overlying the VLEDs and dielectric layer, each of the VLEDs having a top electrode electrically contacting the transparent second conductor layer. Each individual VLED may emit light bidirectionally. The VLEDs are illuminated by a voltage differential between the first conductor layer and the second conductor layer such that bidirectional light passes through the first conductor layer and the second conductor layer. Phosphor layers may be deposited on both sides to create white light using blue VLEDs.

Abstract: A system on chip (SoC) includes one or more core logic blocks that are configured to operate on a lower supply voltage and a memory array configured to operate on a higher supply voltage. Each bitcell in the memory has two ferroelectric capacitors connected in series between a first plate line and a second plate line to form a node Q. A data bit voltage is transferred to the node Q by activating a write driver to provide the data bit voltage responsive to the lower supply voltage. The data bit voltage is boosted on the node Q by activating a sense amp coupled to node Q of the selected bit cell, such that the sense amp senses the data bit voltage on the node Q and in response increases the data bit voltage on the node Q to the higher supply voltage.

Abstract: Systems and methods for manufacturing a vacuum device, such as an electron emitter, that includes a foil exit window palced over and joined to a support grid. In one particular method, the vacuum chamber of an electron emitter has a thin foil forming an exit window at one end. The thin foil may be titanium or any suitable material and the foil will typically enlarge during a bonding process that attaches the foil to the support grid. In one manufacturing process, the support grid is provided with a surface that has contours, typically being smooth recessed surfaces, that the foil once enlarged can lie against as the vacuum pulls the foil against the grid.

Abstract: A system and method for supercharging a combined cycle system includes a forced draft fan providing a variable air flow. At least a first portion of the air flow is directed to a compressor and a second portion of the airflow is diverted to a heat recovery steam generator. A control system controls the airflows provided to the compressor and the heat recovery steam generator. The system allows a combined cycle system to be operated at a desired operating state, balancing cycle efficiency and component life, by controlling the flow of air from the forced draft fan to the compressor and the heat recovery steam generator.
