Abstract: There is provided a system and method for aggregation of user activity data into a user activity stream. The method comprises receiving virtual activity data from a device, receiving real activity data from at least one sensor of the device, aggregating the virtual activity data and the real activity data in the user activity stream, and storing the user activity stream for analysis of user trends. The user trends may be used to customize a digital item, such as a virtual environment, an interactive game, or a social media profile. Additionally, the user trends may be used to deliver personalized content to a user, such as advertisements, user activity options, or interactive digital content. The user activity stream may also be connected to at least one other user profile and may be published for viewing.

Abstract: A precision resistor is formed with a controllable resistance to compensate for variations that occur with temperature. An embodiment includes forming a resistive semiconductive element having a width and a length on a substrate, patterning an electrically conductive line across the width of the resistive semiconductive element, but electrically isolated therefrom, and forming a depletion channel in the resistive semiconductive element under the electrically conductive line to control the resistance value of the resistive semiconductive element. The design enables dynamic adjustment of the resistance, thereby improving the reliability of the resistor or allowing for resistance modification during final packaging.

Abstract: A system, related method and computer program product are disclosed for controlling fuel mass of CNG received by an engine. The system may comprise a heat exchanger configured to receive CLNG and supply coolant and to output CNG and return coolant, an injector configured to inject CNG into the engine, a gas line between the injector and heat exchanger, a control valve configured to receive return coolant from the heat exchanger and to change the amount of return coolant flowing through control valve, and a controller connected to the control valve. The gas line may be configured to carry CNG from the heat exchanger to the injector. The controller may be configured to maintain a Gas Line Temperature within an operating range by adjusting the amount of return coolant flowing through the control valve based, at least in part, on the Gas Line Temperature and a Target Return Coolant Temperature.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention comprise systems and methods related to the provision of location based services via a mobile communications device. In different embodiments, a communication system is described, comprising a mobile communications device, a mobile communications base station, and a server computer system. The location of the device may be correlated with certain user preferences stored on the server computer system. In various embodiments, components of the larger system are described. In some cases, various location related mapping functions for a device are discussed. In other embodiments, systems and methods which provide for activities to be undertaken based on the location of a device are described. In still other embodiments, the disclosure addresses systems and methods of efficiently determining the location of a mobile device. In some embodiments, different notification schemes based on the location of a device and specified preferences are described.

Abstract: The present invention is a photodiode or photodiode array having improved ruggedness for a shallow junction photodiode which is typically used in the detection of short wavelengths of light. In one embodiment, the photodiode has a relatively deep, lightly-doped P zone underneath a P+ layer. By moving the shallow junction to a deeper junction in a range of 2-5 ?m below the photodiode surface, the improved device has improved ruggedness, is less prone to degradation, and has an improved linear current.

Abstract: A battery pack for a vehicle may include a cell array defining an upper surface and a housing defining a raised portion extending along and above a length of the array such that the raised portion and upper surface define a vent manifold therebetween which may be configured to collect gases generated by the array. The housing may define a discharge opening configured to allow gases to exit the manifold. A pair of end plates may be disposed at opposing ends of the array. One of the end plates may define a pass through portion in at least partial registration with the discharge opening. An outlet tube may be configured to facilitate fluid communication between the vent manifold and exterior of the vehicle. The battery pack may also include spacers located between upper edges of adjacent cells and may be configured to prevent cooling gases from entering the vent manifold.

Abstract: A heat dissipation device and method provides thermal spreading and cooling for a heat-producing body. A thin film evaporator in thermal communication with the heat-producing body removes heat from the heat-producing body using a working fluid. A heat pipe integrated with the thin film evaporator, and extending from the thin film evaporator, dissipates heat removed by the thin film evaporator to the external environment of the heat dissipation device. A pumping element at least one of: 1) pumps working fluid to the thin film evaporator; and 2) augments transfer of working fluid to the thin film evaporator.

Abstract: A vision system for a vehicle includes a single forward facing camera and a control having a processor, with the camera and processor disposed in a unitary module installed in the vehicle. The processor, responsive to processing of captured image data, detects headlights of oncoming vehicles and the control, responsive to the detection, provides an output for a headlamp control system of the vehicle. The processor, responsive to processing of captured image data, detects lane marks on a road being traveled by the vehicle and, responsive to the detection, provides an output for a lane departure warning system of the vehicle. The processor may estimate distance from the vehicle to an object or vehicle present exteriorly of the vehicle. The module is supplied by an automotive supplier to the vehicle manufacturer with software operable by the processor for a plurality of driver assistance systems of the vehicle.

Abstract: The present invention generally relates to compositions and methods of delivering living cells in a dry mode, wherein the compositions include a surface layer disposed on the outer surface of the composition that is permeable to carbon dioxide and oxygen. The compositions may be used to deliver living cells to a delivery point without the use of expensive refrigerants such as dry ice or liquid nitrogen.

Abstract: In accordance with an embodiment a structure can include a monolithically integrated trench field-effect transistor (FET) and Schottky diode. The structure can include a first gate trench extending into a semiconductor region, a second gate trench extending into the semiconductor region, and a source region flanking a side of the first gate trench. The source region can have a substantially triangular shape, and a contact opening extending into the semiconductor region between the first gate trench and the second gate trench. The structure can include a conductor layer disposed in the contact opening to electrically contact the source region along at least a portion of a slanted sidewall of the source region, and the semiconductor region along a bottom portion of the contact opening. The conductor layer can form a Schottky contact with the semiconductor region.

Abstract: A method is provided for determining a website user behavioral portrait based on navigation on the website and dynamically reconfiguring web pages based on those portraits. In accordance with the method, data relating to the progress of a user through a website is recorded, and an ongoing behavioral portrait of the user is built based on the data. The portrait is then used to dynamically reconfigure web content.

Abstract: The invention provides compositions and methods for diagnosing tumors and augmentic therapeutic intervention and measuring response to cell stress using sphingomyelin containing liposomes. The liposomes can include radiotracers, contrast agents, chromophores, dyes, enzyme substrates, therapeutic agents, chemotherapeutic agents or DNA segments. The indicators enable measurement of the extent of cellular release of Acid SMase at a localized site of cell stress. The nanoparticles have the capacity to locally release their contents, be it imaging (for diagnosis) or therapeutic agents (to augment therapy).
