Abstract: A cloud-based broker service may be provided for computing devices in a distributed computing environment. The broker service may aggregate user accounts and user account credentials utilized for accessing online services by the computing devices. The broker service may monitor a context of the computing devices associated with the user accounts. The broker service may then utilize the context, data associated with the user accounts and data associated with the user account credentials to automate tasks and/or provide alerts associated with the data.

Abstract: A line for use in angling sports, such as fly fishing, comprises a braid formed of polytetrafluorethylene (PTFE) strands and polyethylene (PE) strands. The PTFE strands and the PE strands are arranged such that in a rest position, an outer surface of the braid is defined by both the PTFE strands and the PE strands and when the braid is placed under tension, the outer surface of the braid is defined at least substantially by the PTFE strands due to bulging of the PTFE strands relative to the PE strands.

Abstract: According to an embodiment of the present invention, a method for using information in conjunction with a data repository includes encrypting data associated with the information with an encryption key, sending at least the encrypted data to the data repository, and possibly deleting the information. The method also includes receiving a request for the information from a remote device, and sending a request for the encrypted data to the data repository. The method further includes receiving the encrypted data from the data repository, decrypting the encrypted data using the encryption key, and sending the information to the remote device.

Abstract: A vacuum roll includes an inner rotor, an intermediate stator, and an outer shell roll. The inner rotor has open and closed portions and is adapted to rotate within the intermediate stator which is rotationally fixed and also has open and closed portions. The outer shell roll has open and closed portions and is adapted to move around the intermediate stator. Together the inner rotor and the intermediate stator define an internal rotary valve interface adapted to control fluid communication between the interior chamber and the outer shell.

Abstract: Various methods, apparatus, and systems are disclosed for calculating a fee linked to an online financial transaction, with improved flexibility and availability through caching and refreshing of fee calculation data. In one embodiment, a method includes extracting fee calculation data into a data cache associated with a version identifier that is updated in response to refreshing of the data cache; receiving a fee calculation request linked to an online transaction associated with a fee type, a country code, and a client identifier; and then selecting, by looking up the data cache, a base fee from either a default fee determined by the fee type and the country code or from an overriding fee associated with the client identifier. The method further includes calculating a transaction fee for the online transaction based at least in part on the base fee; and verifying the version identifier to transmit the calculated transaction fee.

Abstract: A method and arrangement for providing location information of a called mobile communication device to a calling party are implemented through a mobile device locator platform disposed in the communication network. A mobile device subscriber to the location service initiates a process where the location of his mobile device is updated on a regular basis and the location information stored in a database on the platform. When a call is placed to his subscribed device, the location information is transmitted to the calling party prior to setting up the call to the called device, allowing the calling party to determine whether or not to proceed with the call, as well as eliminating the need to ask the common question “where are you?” when placing a call to a mobile device.

Abstract: An image processing method may include capturing images of a subject using an image capture device. The images may be aligned and one image may be subtracted from another to obtain a remainder image. The remainder image may be marked and then recombined with one of the images.

Abstract: An animal holder for use with an imaging device includes a body tube for receiving a first body portion of the animal. The animal holder also includes a head immobilization mechanism disposed adjacent one end of the body tube for receiving a head of the animal. The head immobilization mechanism includes opposing first and second flexible fingers that have free ends configured to contact and immobilize the head of the animal when the fingers are moved to a compressed position.

Abstract: An apparatus, method, and computer program product for scaling a rendered surface. The apparatus includes a graphics processor configured to render a surface at a source resolution, wherein a scaling parameter is associated with the surface, the scaling parameter defining the source resolution and a destination resolution. The apparatus further includes a display processor configured to scale the rendered surface to the destination resolution. Preferably, the scaling parameters are EGL surface attributes.

Abstract: In general, the present disclosure describes various techniques for programmable, pattern-based unpacking and packing of data channel information, including still image, video, and audio component data. One example device comprises a programmable processor having a plurality of processing pipelines. The processor is configured to receive pattern information that specifies a pattern for a plurality of input data components, the pattern information comprising a plurality of pattern elements that are each associated with one or more of the input data components, and each input data component being selected from a component group consisting of a still image data component, an audio data component, and a video data component. For example, the input data components may comprise pixel data components, such as color channels. The processor is further configured to provide each input data component to a selected processing pipeline of the processor in accordance with the pattern information.

Abstract: The purpose of this device is to reduce the fuel consumption of heavy trucks by improving airflow along the underside of a trailer, using a series of rectangular panels to close the gaps between trailer crossmembers and create a continuous smooth surface. These panels are placed in between adjacent crossmembers and secured to their flanges using a plurality of clamping mechanisms. Each clamp is comprised of a U nut fitted to edge of the panel and a half clip that is bolted to the bottom. With the U nut clamping down on the topside of the flange and the half clip gripping the bottom surface of the crossmember, these clamps secure each panel in place. These fittings, requiring no modification to the crossmembers themselves, are easily installed and readily removable.
