Abstract: A two component dental composition is disclosed which eliminates or substantially reduces the discomfort and pain associated with dentinal hypersensitivity which composition comprises a first dentifrice component having a neutral pH in the range of about 6.5 to 7.5 buffered with a phosphate salt, a second dentifrice component having an alkaline pH in the range of 6.5 to 7.5 and at least one of the components containing a potassium ion releasable compound and a fluoride ion releasable salt, the first and second components being maintained separate from each other until dispensed and combined for application to teeth requiring relief from dentine hypersensitivity, whereby heightened desensitization is experienced by the user.

Abstract: The invention is a scrolling apparatus may be incorporated into an input device, such as a pointing device or a keyboard, for example, and operatively connected to a host computer to scroll an image along multiple axes relative to a display screen. The scrolling apparatus includes a rotatable member with the configuration of a wheel or a ball. In addition, the scrolling apparatus includes a depressible actuator located around the rotatable member. Both the rotatable member and the actuator, which scroll the image in different scrolling directions or at different scrolling velocities, for example, may be utilized for scrolling the image.

Abstract: An input device, such as a mouse, for a computer is provided which enables a user to quickly and accurately position the input device during poor lighting conditions and determine whether the computer is ON. The input device according to the present invention is also arranged to illuminate the area proximate the input device. The input device includes a housing and an illumination device that is supported by the housing. Illumination from the illumination device is visible when the input device is placed on a supporting surface.

Abstract: A computer system has a keyboard storage portion and carrier. The computer system may be a personal computer capable of generating a control signal. A keyboard holding carrier slides in and out of a processing housing. This enables selective positioning of a keyboard within the processing housing. A drive mechanism imparts reciprocal movement to the carrier and a drive control system is responsive to the control signal from the personal computer. Also included is a sensor connected to the drive mechanism that determines a position of the carrier relative to the personal computer.

Abstract: A two component desensitizing dentifrice composition is disclosed which comprises a first dentifrice component containing a desensitizing potassium salt such as potassium nitrate and an alkali metal compound such as NaOH and a second dentifrice component containing a desensitizing stannous salt source such as stannous, the first and second dentifrice components being maintained separate from the other until dispensed for application to teeth.

Abstract: A dental fluoride foam composition comprising a foamable fluoride containing composition that is packaged in a foam generating container, the composition being comprised mainly of, an aqueous solution of a water soluble fluoride ion releasable salt, a taurate surfactant whereby the composition when dispensed from the container into the trough of a dental tray forms a low density, rapidly collapsible foam which substantially liquefies in about 1 minute after being dispensed from the foam generating container and placed in contact with a patients teeth.

Abstract: A method is disclosed for enhancing fluoride availability using an acidulated two component dentifrice system in which the first component contains sodium fluoride and a silica abrasive in an alkaline environment and the second component contains an acid, a phosphate ion source, and a silica abrasive.
