Abstract: A two component dental composition is disclosed which eliminates or substantially reduces the discomfort and pain associated with dentinal hypersensitivity which composition comprises a first dentifrice component having an alkaline pH, a second dentifrice component having an acid pH and at least one of the components containing a potassium ion releasable compound, the first and second components being maintained separate from each other until dispensed and combined for application to teeth requiring relief from dentine hypersensitivity, whereby heightened desensitization is experienced by the user.

Abstract: A multimeter having an elongated housing with a fixed recess for receiving a current-carrying conductor is provided. The multimeter is adapted to measure various parameters including a.c. and d.c. voltage, resistance, and a.c. current. On one end of the elongated housing of the multimeter is a C-shaped current sensor mounted around the fixed recess for measuring a.c. current in the current-carrying conductor and on the other end is a pair of test leads for measuring resistance, a.c. voltage, and d.c. voltage. The current sensor and the test leads provide input signals to an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) to obtain digital samples which are displayed as measurement results according to the selected measurement mode.

Abstract: A two component desensitizing dentifrice composition is disclosed which comprises a first dentifrice component containing a desensitizing potassium salt such as potassium nitrate and a second dentifrice component containing a stannous salt desensitizing agent such as SnF2, the first and second dentifrice components being maintained separate form the other until dispensed for application to teeth requiring relief from dentine hypersensitivity, at least one of the dentifrice components containing the oxyethylated reaction product of hydrogenated castor oil to reduce astringency when the combined product is used by consumers.

Abstract: A SnF.sub.2 gel composition exhibiting improved stand-up and stability to exposure to air containing moisture which composition contains SNF.sub.2, anhydrous glycerin, a polyethylene glycol having an average molecular weight of 1000 and xanthan gum.

Abstract: A mouth moistener for alleviating dry mouth condition comprised of an aqueous vehicle containing less than about 2% by weight an edible organic acid such as citric or malic acid and a mixture of a water soluble calcium ion releasing salt and a water soluble phosphate ion releasing salt, wherein the solution is unsaturated with respect to calcium phosphate and the solubility product (S.P.) of the calcium and phosphate ion concentration present in the solution, as expressed by the equationS.P.=[Ca][PO.sub.4 ].sup.2is less than about 0.004, wherein [Ca] is the molar concentration of the released calcium ions and [PO.sub.4 ] is the molar concentration of the released phosphate ion.
