Patent number: 11945079Abstract: A screwdriver includes a main body and a switch. The main body is coupled to a handle and includes a pair of parallel, spaced apart slots, and a pawl positioned in each slot. Each pawl is biased outwardly by a spring. The switch is pivotable relative to the main body, and the switch includes a groove extending along an arcuate portion of an inner surface. Pivoting the switch in a first direction moves the switch toward a first position in which the groove is positioned in-line with the first pawl. When the switch is in the first position, the first pawl extends outwardly from the slot and engages the internal tooth surface such that application of a torque in a first direction drives a shank in the first direction and application of a torque in the second direction causes the shank to ratchet relative to the main body.Type: GrantFiled: March 29, 2021Date of Patent: April 2, 2024Assignee: Milwaukee Electric Tool CorporationInventors: Collin J. Publication number: 20240058875Abstract: A hole saw including a plurality of sidewall openings is provided. The sidewall openings are shaped and grouped in patterns that improve debris ejection of the hole saw and that allow for easy access to the interior of the hole saw for manual debris removal by the user. The opening groups are space from each other by larger uninterrupted areas such that the hole saw has a high strength despite the number and size of openings provided in the saw sidewall.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 3, 2023Publication date: February 22, 2024Inventors: Peter Russell Heath, Bryan C. Ward, Steven W. Hyma

Patent number: 11896075Abstract: A hard hat with symmetric front and back mounting ridges to support a headlamp is described. The hard hat provides mounting ridges to receive insertion slots of a rigid mounting bracket that fit around the ridges. The rigid mounting bracket includes channels to loop a strap through the channels and support a lamp on the bracket. The strap may include a hook and loop fastener system to enable attachment of a variety of lamps to the rigid support bracket. In this way, the hard hat can support a wide variety of headlamps attached to the rigid mounting bracket without destructive alterations to the hard hat. Clips may be added to the rigid mounting bracket to secure or lock the bracket in place during operation and prevent accidental knocks or jarring of the headlamp.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 2022Date of Patent: February 13, 2024Assignee: Milwaukee Electric Tool CorporationInventor: Steven W. Publication number: 20230339127Abstract: A utility knife including a handle, a blade, a first blade holder, and a spare blade holder. The spare blade holder is pivotal with respect to the handle between an open position where the recess is exposed to allow a spare blade to be removed from the spare blade holder and a closed position where the recess is within a slot of the handle to inhibit removal of the spare blade from the spare blade holder. The spare blade holder further including a cam surface and the cam surface of the spare blade holder engages a cam surface of the handle when the spare blade holder is in the closed position to urge the spare blade holder in a direction from a first longitudinal side of the handle toward a second longitudinal side of the handle to allow the first blade holder to pivot between extended and folded positions.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 29, 2023Publication date: October 26, 2023Inventors: Grant T. Squiers, Steven W. Hyma, Christopher S. Hoppe, Michael Stearns, Joseph M. DeBaker

Patent number: 11745329Abstract: A wrench case for a set of combination wrenches, where each wrench includes an open end, a closed end, and an elongate handle extending therebetween. The wrench case includes a handle, a post receiving the open end of each wrench, and a body including a front side and a back side. The front side supports the elongate handle of each wrench. The wrench case further includes a plurality of tabs spaced apart along the front side of the body. Between adjacent tabs is a gap that receives each wrench. The wrench case further includes a door pivotally coupled to the body between a closed position, in which the door is coupled adjacent the front side of the body to maintain each wrench against the body, and an open position, in which the door is coupled adjacent the back side of the body.Type: GrantFiled: June 23, 2021Date of Patent: September 5, 2023Assignee: Milwaukee Electric Tool CorporationInventors: Steven W.
