  • Publication number: 20030208777
Abstract: Signals are transmitted over a multiplexed channel for receipt by a plurality of client devices. One of the signals carries content data and another signal carries message data associated with an identifier. The message data can be output only by those client devices identified by the identifier.

  • Patent number: 5753434
Abstract: Methods and compositions effective to alter the sexual or reproductive behavior of an insect are disclosed. The compositions include polynucleotides and polypeptides corresponding to the fru gene in Drosophila and its homologs in other species. Methods of identifying a compound effective to alter the reproductive behavior of an insect are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5341480
Abstract: A method for rapidly transferring serial data in a two conductor busing arrangement in which one conductor is utilized to transfer data and the other conductor is utilized to transfer clock signals, and in which a plurality of components are connected to the two conductors, at least one of which is capable of acting as a bus master including the steps of providing clock signals on the clock conductor which are active on both edges, placing a special signal on the data conductor to indicate the start of an operation, placing address data on the data conductor to indicate an address on the data conductor, placing data on the data conductor to indicate the type of transfer to be made, acknowledging the receipt of the address by a component being addressed, transferring data on the data conductor, placing a special signal on the data conductor to indicate the end of the data transfer, transferring a signal indicating a parity count, and placing another special signal on the data conductor to indicate the end of t

  • Patent number: 5263138
Abstract: An auxiliary busing arrangement for transferring real time data in a computer system including a plurality of conductors sufficient to transfer in parallel the bits of a data word and the control signals necessary to control the transfer; a plurality of components connected to utilize the busing arrangement, each of the components being assigned a unique priority number and being connected to one of the plurality of conductors used for one of the control signals; apparatus in each of the components for detecting the condition of the one of the plurality of conductors; apparatus for providing clock signals on another of the plurality of conductors used for one of the control signals; apparatus for providing a first condition on the one of the plurality of conductors; apparatus in each of the components for providing a second condition on the one of the plurality of conductors; apparatus in each of the components for terminating an attempt to access the busing arrangement in response to the detection of the sec

  • Patent number: RE29840
Abstract: A rack for securing bicycles to the trunk lid of an automobile. The rack includes a rigid support member having legs which rest directly on top of the trunk lid. A pair of rearwardly extending arms are rigidly mounted on the rear portion of the rigid support and are adapted to receive the frame of a bicycle thereon. Straps extend from the rigid support and are secured to the lower edge of the back of the trunk lid in order to hold the support member rigidly against the top of the trunk lid. Means are provided to interconnect the front of the support to the front of the trunk lid. A cable or chain passes around and is secured to the bicycle and interconnects to the means which interconnects the front portion of the bicycle rack to the front of the trunk lid.
