  • Publication number: 20100262938
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for navigating a media guidance application with multiple perspective views. A first of a plurality of media guidance objects may be displayed in a first perspective view that appears flat on the screen. A second media guidance object may be displayed in a second perspective view that appears to be going into the screen creating the appearance of a fold between the first and second media guidance application objects at a location where the first perspective view changes into the second perspective view. The second media guidance object in the second perspective view may be caused to slide through the fold into the first perspective view. The second media guidance object displayed in the first perspective view may be selected. An action may be performed for a media asset corresponding to the selected media guidance object.

  • Publication number: 20100255957
Abstract: A method for isometric exercise safely reduces resting blood pressure and increases overall cardiovascular health. The method utilizes an apparatus that provides resistance to force and maximizes user/patient comfort. The handle or grip of the apparatus may be squeezed with a force less than the maximum squeeze force of the user, thereby restricting blood flow through contracting muscles and safely increasing blood pressure during exercise. Resting blood pressure is reduced through use of the method. The restricted blood flow reduces localized necrosis due to obstruction of blood supply. The method includes measuring and recording the maximum squeeze force of a user, calculating a fractional force using the duration of exercise or a desired fractional force percentage, and inducing the user to apply the fractional force, a lesser fractional force or no force for a time.

  • Publication number: 20100175057
Abstract: A method of associating a service with a computer software product includes loading an executable software file containing software code that upon execution carries out a software program, inputting code into functions of the software file, mapping execution of the functions of the software file, receiving an input identifying a content trigger, identifying a function of the software file associated with the content trigger, and modifying the function associated with the content trigger to cause presentation of service in response to an occurrence of the content trigger. An enhanced software file may be produced that includes the modified function.

  • Publication number: 20100175047
Abstract: A method of associating advertisements with a computer software product includes loading an executable software file containing software code that upon execution carries out a software program, parsing instructions in the loaded executable software file, presenting the parsed instructions in a user interface, receiving transformation instructions to be applied to the executable software file, and applying the transformation instructions to the executable software file to produce a transformed executable software file. The transformation instructions include location information for displaying an advertisement before, during, or after execution of the software program.

  • Patent number: 7739910
Abstract: A system, and method for isometric exercise that safely reduces resting blood pressure and increases overall cardiovascular health. An apparatus includes a handle or grip configured to provide natural resistance to force and maximize user comfort and the system includes squeezing the handle or grip of the apparatus with a force that is less than the maximum squeeze force of the user, thereby reducing blood flow through contracting arm muscles and safely increasing blood pressure during exercise. Resting blood pressure is reduced through regular use of the system. The method includes measuring and recording the maximum squeeze force of a user, calculating a fractional force using the duration of exercise or a desired fractional force percentage, and alternately inducing the user to apply the fractional force for a calculated time and inducing the user to apply a lesser fractional force or no force for a calculated time.

  • Patent number: 7714229
Abstract: A method of making a coaxial cable assembly is disclosed, the assembly comprising a coaxial cable and a connector, or connector termination, at least one end of the cable. A connector, comprised of connector components, is also disclosed. The method comprises placing connector components into contact with the cable before the connector components are assembled into a connector. The connector is assembled simultaneously with securing the connector to the cable to make a coaxial cable assembly. A method of preparing coaxial cable in a manner suitable for making coaxial cable assemblies is also disclosed. The coaxial cable assembly can be a jumper, or a lead.

  • Publication number: 20090265221
Abstract: In various embodiments, the influence of marketing assets upon an individual are analyzed. In particular, a record of the individual's interactions with a first marketing asset of a first marketing campaign may be stored in a database. Thereafter, the database may be queried to determine whether the individual interacted with the first marketing asset in accordance with defined criteria. If so, the individual may be associated with the first marketing campaign.

  • Publication number: 20090180395
Abstract: A method for communicating network status information includes receiving, via a first link, a request for status information from a client device, the first link being a link between a router device and a client device. In response to the request, a data exchanger is polled for status information via a second link. The second link is a link between the router device and the data exchanger. The status information identifies a state of a third link between the data exchanger and a wide area network. The status information is received via the second link and communicated to the client device via the first link.

  • Publication number: 20090175285
Abstract: A method for selecting a data path includes identifying a plurality of available data paths between a router device and a wide area network. Link status information for the available data paths are obtained. Selection rules are processed with the obtained link status information, and one of the plurality of available data paths is selected according to the processing of the selection rules. Data communications are then routed between a local area network and the wide area network via a data exchanger and a remote data link that follows the selected data path.

  • Publication number: 20090172658
Abstract: A method for installing an application includes detecting the initiation of a connection between a peripheral device and a client. An application state is determined. An active application state is an indication that the application has previously been installed. Upon a determination that the application state is not active, the application is installed on the client from the peripheral device, the application state is set to active, and the peripheral device is enabled to perform tasks as guided by the client.

  • Publication number: 20090172796
Abstract: A method, implemented by a router device, for guiding a user in establishing access privileges for a data exchanger includes causing the data exchanger to establish a remote link with a data service provider. Access content is obtained from the data service provider and presented to a client device. Access data provided in response to the presenting of the access content is received. The access content when presented by the client device enables a user to supply the access data. The access data is useable by the data service provider to set access privileges associated with the data exchanger that enable the data exchanger to be utilized to perform a desired function. The access data is returned to the data service provider via the remote link. The data exchanger is utilized to implement the desired function.
