  • Publication number: 20050116899
Abstract: A method for driving a plasma display panel (PDP) and for improving contrast. The PDP includes a middle electrode formed between an X electrode and a Y electrode. A sustain discharge pulse voltage is periodically applied to the X electrode and the Y electrode in a pulse train fashion. In addition, a reset waveform, a scan pulse voltage, and a sustain discharge voltage are applied to the middle electrode. Also, to reduce a discharge amount, a voltage of Vxe or Vye is applied to one of the X and Y electrodes during a fallen waveform period of a reset period.

  • Publication number: 20050113154
Abstract: A sliding-type mobile communication terminal having a first housing and a second housing adapted to allow the first housing to be opened or closed by means of a sliding movement on the first housing in a longitudinal direction of the first housing. The terminal includes a spring module adapted to provide a sliding force, along the longitudinal direction of the first housing, for allowing closing of the second housing within a predetermined range of distance, and for providing the sliding force in an opposite direction for allowing opening of the second housing beyond the predetermined range of distance. The spring module includes link bars rotatably coupled in one end onto the first housing, coil springs supported by one end of the link bar and coupled to enclose the link bar, and a slider slidably coupled to the link bar to be acted upon by an elastic force from the coil spring. The terminal uses the elasticity in coil springs to implement a semi-automatic sliding opening/closure of the second housing.

  • Publication number: 20040252532
Abstract: Provided is a power supply apparatus which includes a comparator, an output voltage adjusting unit, a controller, and an output unit. The comparator compares a sensed AC input voltage to a reference voltage and outputs one of first through third comparison result signals. The output voltage adjusting unit outputs one of first through third output voltage level adjustment signals for changing the feedback output voltage level according to one of the comparison result signals. The controller outputs a switching signal. The output unit outputs a predetermined voltage by regulating and smoothing an input voltage induced to a secondary coil of a transformer by the switching signal. By adjusting the output voltage of a boost converter according to the input voltage, efficiency is increased because there is less power loss of the switching component, and the hold-up time may be adjusted even in a case of low AC input voltage.

  • Publication number: 20040124162
Abstract: A rack for contiguously storing and displaying a stack of symmetrical objects having parallel and planar opposite faces such as compact discs jewelcases. The rack comprises a toggling mechanism at the bottom of each storage location that raises the object above the adjacent others in response to a light pushing movement in order to facilitate pulling the object our of the rack.

  • Publication number: 20040085333
Abstract: A method of processing image data to generate output image data for driving a display panel is provided. In the method, a new resolution for input image data is set according to a resolution of the display panel. A first virtual screen is divided into a plurality of pixel areas according to the new resolution set for the input image data. A second virtual screen having a sub-pixel array structure of the display panel is superimposed on the first virtual screen. A mask wider than a sub-pixel area on the superimposed second virtual screen is laid on each sub-pixel area. An area ratio of the area of each pixel portion on the first virtual screen included in each mask to the area of the mask is obtained and set. The new resolution and the area ratios are applied to a driving device of the display panel. The input image data having an original resolution is transformed into image data having the new resolution.

  • Publication number: 20020086700
Abstract: There is provided a hinge module for mechanically connecting a main body to a folder in a portable radio terminal. In the hinge module, a hinge shaft has an angled portion on one end and a shaft on the other end thereof, for rotating with the folder. A hinge cam is disposed to face the hinge shaft and has a pair of angled portions on the surface facing the hinge shaft, a valley portion between the angled portions, a fixing post along a rotating axis, and a guide protrusion for facilitating sliding of the hinge cam with respect to the hinge shaft while restricting rotational movement of the hinge cam. Each angled portion has a gentle slope and a steep slope that are asymmetrical sidewise. A hinge spring is disposed along the rotating axis and has one end connected to the fixing protrusion of the hinge cam, for providing restoring force to the hinge cam.
