  • Patent number: 8676380
Abstract: There are provided a moving robot and a method of operating the same. A bottom surface is photographed to sense a moving distance and a moving direction based on input image data. The amount of light radiated to photograph the bottom surface is sensed to feedback control the light emission degree of a light source unit. The light source unit is controlled when errors are generated in sensing the image data. Therefore, the sensing ratio of the photographed image is improved so that correctness of calculating the position of the moving robot is improved.

  • Patent number: 8489606
Abstract: A music search apparatus using an emotion model includes a music database (DB) for storing sound source data about a plurality of pieces of music and Arousal-Valence (AV) coefficients of the respective pieces of music. An emotion model generation unit classifies different emotion types into a plurality of groups, and generates an emotion classification model from using respective probability distributions of the plurality of groups for an AV coefficient plane. A music search unit identifies an emotion type from using information entered by a user when a music search request is received, detects an AV coefficient range for designating an AV coefficient corresponding to the identified emotion type from using the emotion classification model, and searches the music DB for music corresponding to the AV coefficient range.

  • Patent number: 8193507
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for compensating for anode gain non-uniformity in a Multi-anode Position Sensitive Photomultiplier Tube (PS-PMT), in which a compensation unit is disposed between the multi-anode position sensitive photomultiplier tube and a position detection circuit unit and configured to uniform a current signal inputted to the position detection circuit unit, thereby compensating for anode gain non-uniformity. In accordance with the present invention, the compensation unit for changing resistance is used. Accordingly, there is an advantage in that the gain non-uniformity of each of the anodes of the PS-PMT can be compensated for. Furthermore, the gain non-uniformity of each of the anodes of the PS-PMT is compensated for by changing resistance values of the variable resistances of the compensation unit. Accordingly, there is an advantage in that the interaction positions of gamma rays can be calculated more precisely.
