  • Publication number: 20210004000
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for automating the prediction of maintenance windows in datacenter environments. A user input can be received specifying a start time for a maintenance window. A first amount of time for a host machine to enter a maintenance mode at the start time for the maintenance window is estimated. Then, a second amount of time to update a software component installed on the host machine is estimated. A third amount of time for the host to update a storage cache to match a respective data store can also be estimated. A maintenance window length can then be predicted that comprises a sum of the first amount of time, the second amount of time, and third amount of time. The maintenance window length can then be rendered within a user interface.

  • Patent number: 10831763
Abstract: A machine-readable medium that gathers a plurality of key terms is described. In an exemplary embodiment, the machine-readable medium receives a plurality of terms and selects a plurality of key terms from the plurality of terms, wherein each of the plurality of key terms is a term that is highlighted in a running application. The machine-readable medium further associates a predictive search query for each of the plurality of key terms, wherein the predictive search query is executed when that term is found in a running application and the user selects this term in the running application. The machine-readable medium additionally sends the plurality of key terms to a plurality of devices, wherein each of the plurality of devices matches at least one of the plurality of key terms in that device.
