  • Publication number: 20240185282
Abstract: This disclosure relates generally to estimation of optimal markdown pricing based on customer regret. Pricing is a core aspect of any retail industry, and one of the pricing strategies used by retailers to attract customers is price reduction, wherein a seasonal product is sold at a markdown price after a predictable regular sale. The existing techniques for estimating an optimal markdown price are limited to factors such as market competition, and retailer formats and do not gain deeper understanding of customers' reactions nor explicitly utilizes inventory data. The disclosure estimates optimal markdown pricing in several steps including estimation of a set of behavioral model parameters comprising a customer regret parameter and a set of reservation price parameters, determining a markdown demand, and estimating the optimal markdown price using the markdown demand and inventory data.

  • Publication number: 20240143581
Abstract: A computer-implemented method can receive a hierarchy table comprising a plurality of records associated with objects organized in a hierarchical structure. The records comprise values corresponding to a plurality of displayable fields and specify value distributions among the objects. The method can specify one or more viewable fields at an input area of a graphical user interface, and display a plurality of nodes and a plurality of directional links connecting the displayed nodes on a display window of the graphical user interface. The displayed nodes represent objects whose associated records have unique combinations of values corresponding to the specified viewable fields. The directional links represent value distributions among objects represented by the displayed nodes. The method can display aggregated value distributed to or from objects represented by the displayed nodes. The viewable fields specify which of the displayable fields are visible on the displayed nodes.

  • Patent number: 11797075
Abstract: Reducing power consumption of communication interfaces by clock frequency scaling and adaptive interleaving of polling is disclosed. In a first aspect, a control system controls transmission of a command via a serial interface at a higher clock frequency. After transmission, the control system and the interface are operated at a lower clock frequency to save power during command execution. In this aspect, a reduction in polling corresponds to the reduction in clock signal frequency. When the command is complete, the interface is operated at the higher frequency to send another command. In a second aspect, after the control system sends a command to the receiving device, polling is suspended and an execution time of the command is tracked. Polling begins when the tracked execution time almost equals an expected completion time. Both aspects disclosed above may be implemented to reduce power consumption in exchange for a small increase in latency.

  • Patent number: 11734156
Abstract: Machine-learned prediction of a blame frame of a crash stack. Specifically, a crash stack associated with a crash is parsed into a sequence of frames. The blame frame of the crash stack is estimated by, for each of a plurality of the sequence of frames, identifying a plurality of features of the corresponding frame, feeding the plurality of features to a neural network, and using the output of the neural network to make a prediction on whether the corresponding frame is a blame frame of the crash. If this is done during training time, the predicted blame frame can be compared against the actual blame frame, resulting in an adjustment of the neural network. Through appropriate featurization of the frames, and by use of the neural network, the prediction can be made cross-application and considering the context of the frame within the crash stack.
