  • Publication number: 20050180270
Abstract: The influence of dust is reduced to prevent degradation of the recording and reproduction performances of an optical head apparatus and an information processing apparatus which use a flying slider. The optical head apparatus includes a slider (28) for being flown by an air flow produced by rotation of a disk-type recording medium. Parallel rail elements (28A, 28B) are formed along the direction of the air flow on an opposing face of the slider to the disk-type recording medium. Another rail element (29) is formed in the middle between the two rail elements, and beam light condensed by an objective lens passes through the rail element (29) formed from a transparent material. Even if a foreign particle flows into a gap between the slider and the disk-type recording medium, the optical influence of the foreign particle is less likely to be exerted.

  • Publication number: 20050146800
Abstract: An optical pickup device and optical disc apparatus of the present invention include an optical element that prevents the incidence of light on unnecessary portions of the optical element so that stray light and noise are eliminated. The optical element include at least one substrate having a plurality of lens substrates that have embedded lenses made of a material with a higher refractive index than the at least one substrate. A shielding means limits the optical path so that incident light propagates only within a prescribed optical path formed on a light incidence-side or emission-side surface of one of the lens substrates. In addition, the shielding means is formed from an absorptive or reflective film placed in a region outside the prescribed optical path or through machining the region outside the prescribed optical path.

  • Publication number: 20040156724
Abstract: The invention relates to a thermal barrier coating material for coating a gas turbine member that provides a higher thermal barrier property and a higher peeling resistance. In a first aspect of the invention, a metal binding layer 22 and a porous ZrO2-based ceramic layer 23 are laminated successively on a base material 21, and microcracks that extend in the thickness direction are formed in the ceramic layer 23. After laminating the ceramic layer 23 on the metal binding layer 22 by thermal spraying, etc., microcracks 24 are formed by irradiating with a laser beam a surface of the ceramic layer 23 and thereby heating the surface of the ceramic layer 23 at 1000° C. to 1700° C., while cooling the rear surface of the base material 21. Thus, microcracks 24 are formed by a heating and cooling cycle.

  • Patent number: 6497115
Abstract: In an evaporator composed by providing plural heat-transfer pipes for flowing cold water in a container into which a refrigerant is introduced, the heat-transfer pipes are divided into plural pipe groups and the pipe groups are arranged in a zigzag pattern with intervals between each adjacent pipe groups. Bubbles which are generated around the heat-transfer pipes provided lower position, easily come to the surface of the refrigerant, and further, there are few bubbles which degrade the performance of the heat-transfer pipes positioned around the center of the pipe groups, preventing a fall in the heat transfer coefficient.

  • Patent number: 6481967
Abstract: A gas turbine moving blade is provided which prevents occurrence of cracks caused by thermal stresses due to temperature differences between a blade and a platform while the gas turbine is being stopped. During steady operation time of the moving blade, cooling air enters cooling passages to flow through other cooling passages for cooling the blade, and then to flow out of the blade. A recessed portion having a smooth curved surface is provided in the platform near a blade fitting portion on the blade trailing edge side. A fillet of the blade fitting portion on the blade trailing edge side has a curved surface with curvature larger than that of a conventional blade fitting portion. A hub slot below the fillet, for blowing air, has a cross sectional area larger than other slots of the blade trailing edge. A thermal barrier coating is applied to the blade surface.

  • Publication number: 20020157417
Abstract: This evaporator (12) is constructed such that bundles of heat exchanger tubes (15) for flowing cold water are disposed inside the container (14) for admitting the cooling medium. When a total cross sectional area of the heat exchanger tubes (15) at various locations in the flow direction of the cold water is compared, the total area in a downstream location is less that a total area in an upstream location of the flow passage. Therefore, even though the temperature differential between the cold water and the cooling medium is small, the flow speeds of the cold water in the downstream tubes become faster than that in the upstream tubes, so that the heat flux is increased and heat transfer rate is improved even in tube group D.
