Abstract: A navigation system using a wireless paging network and a traffic information providing method in the navigation system. The navigation system has a traffic information management server, a paging server and a navigation terminal. The paging server broadcasts real-time information including traffic information and living information (e.g., breaking news) and the navigation terminal provides traffic information with the real-time information to a user. Therefore, no extra communication charges are imposed and real-time traffic information and other living information (e.g., breaking news, incident information, etc.) are provided together with route guidance information.

Abstract: A device for transmission/reception of a facsimile data in a separate type WLL system is provided, in which an analog G3 facsimile signal is converted into a CDMA signal format for transmission/reception of the signal. The device includes an interface unit for transmitting facsimile data produced at a facsimile, or matching data received in an analog facsimile protocol to wire line characteristics for providing the data to the facsimile, a facsimile signal processor for receiving the facsimile data from the interface unit and converting it into a digital signal and a radio data service format, or receiving a data in a radio data service format, converting it into an analog facsimile protocol, and forwarding it to the interface unit.

Abstract: A pen input device and method for a pen computing system. This device includes a touch screen panel mounted on a display screen, an electronic device interfaced with the panel, and a pen for inputting data. When a user handwrites a character, or a symbol on the screen panel, a stream of points is displayed on the touch screen panel to express the handwritten character equivalent to a character handwritten on a paper using a pen. When a user draws a boundary line having a specific shape on the touch screen panel using a pen, the pen input device forms a new entry field inside the boundary line. The user can enter a handwritten character or number in the entry field. In response to this entry, the pen input device converts the entered handwritten character or symbol to a computer text or instruction word. The pen input device also enables the user to determine the attributes and size of the generated entry field.

Abstract: A method for allowing users to set a display of desired indicator icons indicating states of a wireless mobile terminal such as a battery status and a received signal strength. The method includes the steps of selecting an indicator setting menu, selecting an indicator icon desired by a user, selecting a display mode of the indicator icon, and then determining whether to apply or cancel the indicator icon's selection.

Abstract: A wireless local loop (WLL) system capable of interfacing with an analog communication device is provided. The WLL system comprises: a SLIC (SLT interface Circuit) capable of matching analog data line characteristics of an analog communication device; and a MODEM for at least (1) receiving an analog data signal provided by the analog communication device through the SLIC, and converting the analog data signal into a class ‘0’ digital data, or (2) receiving a class ‘0’ digital data provided by an MSM, converting the class ‘0’ digital data into an analog data signal, and providing the analog data signal to the analog communication device through the SLIC.
