  • Patent number: 6281954
Abstract: The present invention is to provide a manufacturing method and a structure of an LCD which prevents a pixel electrode from being disconnected or being peeled off thinly from the drain electrode. The bottom plate of an active matrix type LCD comprises a protection layer which covers the switching element, a contact hole for exposing the output terminal of the switching element through the protection layer and the pixel electrode which contacts the output terminal of the switching element through the contact hole and which is formed on the protection layer. Specifically, the contact hole is located in a distance of at least 5 &mgr;m inwards from the edge of the pixel electrode. Therefore, disconnection or peel off of the pixel electrode from the drain electrode due to cracking of the pixel electrode occurring during the process of baking at a high temperature is prevented.

  • Patent number: 6200093
Abstract: A dual-intake fan which is a so-called sirocco fan used for venting air is disclosed. The fan has a structure in which a portion of an exhaust outlet is formed to be inclined while the centers of a scroll housing and an impeller are disposed to be eccentric so that noise can be reduced while air flow can be effectively guided by the scroll housing to the maximum extent and the air flow rate can be increased. The fan includes an impeller on which a plurality of blades are installed for rotating so as to create air flow, and a scroll housing formed so that the air drawn in through an air inlet by the impeller can be guided along a gradually expanding passage of the scroll housing, and the lower portion of an exhaust outlet is composed of at least one incline formed to be inclined upward toward any one side. In addition, the rotation center of the impeller and the center of the air inlet are disposed to be eccentric.

  • Patent number: 6038008
Abstract: A method is provided for manufacturing a liquid crystal display having a gate bus line, a data bus line, and a switching element with a drain electrode over a substrate. The method includes the steps of forming a protection layer over the substrate to cover the gate bus line, the data bus line and the switching element, roughening the surface of the protection layer, removing a portion of the protection layer to define a contact hole in the protection layer over the drain electrode of the switching element, and forming a pixel electrode on the roughened surface of the protection layer, the pixel electrode being connected to the drain electrode through the contact hole.

  • Patent number: 5496999
Abstract: A scanning probe microscope having numerous advantages is disclosed. Respective scanning force and scanning tunneling probes are removably mounted in the head using kinematic mounting techniques so that they may be substituted for one another without the need to adjust the cantilever deflection sensor. A linear position-sensitive photodetector in the deflection sensor eliminates further the need for adjustments. A motorized, non-stacked x,y coarse movement stage is kinematically positioned with respect to the base and features a minimized mechanical loop to reduce thermal and vibrational effects on the position of the sample. A z coarse movement stage positions the head kinematically with respect to the base and includes a motorized drive means which allows the height, tilt and pitch of the probe to be adjusted. The scanner includes x,y and z sample position detectors which provide an accurate measurement of the position of the sample with respect to the probe.
