  • Publication number: 20240018050
Abstract: A novel eco-friendly method has been developed for the fabrication of high dense (3.3-5.2 g/cc) red mud based material blocks for shielding high energy X- and ?-rays. The red mud based material blocks with various densities were fabricated by hot compacting partially melted red mud, red mud:Bi2O3, red mud:Ba(OH)2 and red mud:Bi2O3:Ba(OH)2 samples at 1150° C., 1000° C., 1050° C. and 1000° C., respectively. This material can be used to build radiation shielding structures in medical diagnosis, radiotherapy, industrial radiography, particle accelerators, food sterilization plants, nuclear power plants, and radioactive material storage rooms, without further structural support unlike lead (concrete walls). It is economically viable and will suppress the accumulation of hazardous red mud and associated environmental pollutions.

Abstract: A system can facilitate first broadband cellular communications between a user equipment and core network equipment according to a first number of additional demodulation reference signal (DMRS) positions. The system can determine to modify the first number of additional DMRS positions. The system can, based on determining to modify the first number of additional DMRS positions, send, to the user equipment, physical downlink control channel downlink control information that indicates a second number of additional DMRS positions that are configured in the downlink control information. The system can facilitate second broadband cellular communications between the user equipment and the core network equipment according to the second number of additional DMRS positions, wherein a throughput of the second broadband cellular communications is determined as a function of a size of a transport block set based on the second number of additional DMRS positions.

  • Patent number: 11874794
Abstract: Embodiments relate to improving efficiency of data analytics performed on sets of entity data in which different entity properties having very different update frequencies. Time-based analytical queries track the entity states at each moment within a given time window. Analytical queries are executed over a massive number of entity states while using a reasonable memory footprint. The technique partitions the entity properties into partial historical snapshots of data and combines the partial snapshots on demand only as needed to execute analytical queries over business entities. A complete entity state having values for all entity properties is not required to execute most queries. Only partial snapshots including values referenced by the query need to be combined to satisfy the query. Using partial snapshots minimizes data replication, and the snapshots can be efficiently combined into entity states sufficient for query execution.

  • Publication number: 20240005578
Abstract: The disclosure describes one or more embodiments of systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media that generate a transferred hairstyle image that depicts a person from a source image having a hairstyle from a target image. For example, the disclosed systems utilize a face-generative neural network to project the source and target images into latent vectors. In addition, in some embodiments, the disclosed systems quantify (or identify) activation values that control hair features for the projected latent vectors of the target and source image. Furthermore, in some instances, the disclosed systems selectively combine (e.g., via splicing) the projected latent vectors of the target and source image to generate a hairstyle-transfer latent vector by using the quantified activation values.

  • Patent number: 11846358
Abstract: A rotary valve includes a rotary valve body defining a passageway from a first passageway port at an axial end surface of the rotary valve body to a second passageway port at an outer circumferential surface thereof. A valve housing has an inner surface defining each of an opening rotatably receiving the rotary valve body therein, a first housing port through which a fluid flows transverse to the axis of rotation of the rotary valve body, and a second housing port through which the fluid flows transverse to the axis of rotation of the rotary valve body. A flow path is formed between the inner surface of the valve housing and the outer surface of the rotary valve body with the flow path providing fluid communication between the first housing port of the valve housing and the first passageway port of the rotary valve housing.

  • Publication number: 20230400995
Abstract: Systems and methods disclosed herein improve on current technology for block-level data replication to cloud computing environments. A new system architecture deploys one or more replication tail proxies in a cloud computing environment, locally (at the cloud) tracks replicated data and determines which replicated data meet criteria for reconstructing a desired point-in-time in the cloud, and persists data blocks received at the replication tail proxy until they are processed as recovery points. The disclosed approach presents resiliency and performance advantages. First, the resiliency of block-level data replication to cloud is improved by deploying the replication tail proxy in the destination cloud. Second, a Recovery Time Objective (RTO) is reduced by enabling faster cloud deployment of virtual machines for disaster recovery, failover, and/or test purposes based on the replicated data.

  • Patent number: 11841855
Abstract: Systems and methods for data reporting using a data aggregator and a data retrieval tool such as a file intelligence service. The data aggregator stores two sets of data reporting tables and designates a first one of the sets of tables as an active set and the second one of the sets as a non-active set. The active set of tables stores data corresponding to a most recently successfully completed search. The non-active set stores data retrieved by the data retrieval tool from disparate data sources according to current search. The data in the active set of tables is immediately available for use in requested reports. When the data aggregator completes the current search, it designates the non-active set of tables as the active set so that the data therein becomes available for use in requested reports.

  • Publication number: 20230391621
Abstract: The present invention relates to a cryogenic process to produce crude helium from pretreated natural gas. The pretreated natural gas is processed in two flash stages using the helium free process stream as a stripping agent, and a distillation column with the identified operating conditions and process scheme to ensure 100% helium recovery with reduced capital and operating cost for producing the crude helium. The integration of the cryogenic process with the already known purification system to produce pure helium is demonstrated to ensure high helium recovery in a hybrid process.
