  • Patent number: 10749702
Abstract: Techniques are described for multicast service translation. A router can provide access to a particular source for an Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) channel that is most appropriate for the subscriber despite the subscriber requesting the IPTV channel from a different source. The most appropriate source can be identified based upon a bit rate or quality of service associated with the subscriber and/or a bit rate or quality of service associated with each of one or more alternate sources of the IPTV channel. The router can receive a request to join a multicast stream from a client device of the subscriber that identifies a source associated with an IPTV channel, identify a different source of the IPTV channel for that subscriber, and transmit a different join request destined to the different source.

  • Publication number: 20200138727
Abstract: The present invention provides high density lipoprotein (HDL) or reconstituted HDL (rHDL) particles for the delivery of non-nucleic acid therapeutic agents, therapeutic agents or nucleic acids to cells and tissues. The use of HDL or rHDL particles has advantages over other delivery systems because they are smaller in size and their contents are rapidly internalized by receptors of specific cells, including receptors on the surface of tumor tissue. The HDL or rHDL nanoparticles of the present invention may include a positively charged polyamino acid, which neutralizes the negatively charged nucleic acid, thus allowing for successful incorporation of the nucleic acid into an HDL or rHDL particle. Methods of delivering therapeutic agents to cells and target tissues using the disclosed HDL or rHDL particles are provided as are methods of treating various diseases and disorders.

  • Patent number: 9521458
Abstract: A network device executes a method to provide targeted messages to a subscriber of Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) when a request of the subscriber to access an IPTV channel is denied. The method includes receiving the request of the subscriber from a customer premise equipment (CPE) to access a first multicast stream, where the first multicast stream is a multicast stream for an IPTV channel. The method further includes checking whether the request to access the first multicast stream should be allowed or denied, determining a reason for denial in response to determining that the request should be denied, determining a second multicast stream that corresponds to the reason for denial, sending a join message to a multicast source to receive the second multicast stream, and forwarding the second multicast stream to the CPE.

  • Publication number: 20140316802
Abstract: A method for evaluating a healthcare information system includes first determining a first specification for the healthcare information system. The first specifications may include healthcare profile data for specifying a profile of a healthcare provider, technology profile data for specifying a profile of technology resources, and performance data for measuring the benefits associated with performance indicators of the healthcare information system. Then, an evaluation is determined from the first specification, which may include system performance values. Additionally, characteristic values for performance indicators may be presented to the user. Next, a second specification is then determined by specifying to the user that at least some values of the first specification may be changed. Then, an evaluation for the healthcare information system is determined for the second specification.

  • Patent number: 8464097
Abstract: A method of creating backup files having less redundancy. The method creates a backup file by creating an overhead segment for each file that is to be backed up and creating a data segment containing the data that is to be backed up for each file. After creating the overhead segment and the data segment, the overhead segment is placed into an overhead stream data segment is stored in memory. The overhead segment is also positioned in the overhead stream with a pointer that identifies the data segment within the memory. For backups of subsequent servers or the same server at a later time, the backup software will create a separate overhead stream. However, a plurality of overhead streams may contain pointers to the same data segments such that redundant data segments do not need to be stored in a backup server.
