    Abstract: Aspects of the technology described herein relate to an ultrasound device including a first die that includes an ultrasonic transducer, a first application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) that is bonded to the first die and includes a pulser, and a second ASIC in communication with the second ASIC that includes integrated digital receive circuitry. In some embodiments, the first ASIC may be bonded to the second ASIC and the second ASIC may include analog processing circuitry and an analog-to-digital converter. In such embodiments, the second ASIC may include a through-silicon via (TSV) facilitating communication between the first ASIC and the second ASIC. In some embodiments, SERDES circuitry facilitates communication between the first ASIC and the second ASIC and the first ASIC includes analog processing circuitry and an analog-to-digital converter. In some embodiments, the technology node of the first ASIC is different from the technology node of the second ASIC.

The method involves determining a reference vector within a spatial region for which spatial data exists, loading a portion of the spatial data including the data around the reference vector into a memory buffer, and searching the spatial data in a prioritized order. The method, system and apparatus have particular utility in searching geographic data for a terrain awareness and warning system (“TAWS”) and display in an aircraft. Embodiments of the present invention provide advantages over existing sequential and radial search methods, significantly reducing the processing and calculations required and providing faster alerts to pilots.

The degradation of deposited HSQ layers during formation of the semiconductor device, as from photoresist stripping using an O2-containing plasma, is avoided by forming first and second dielectric layers on the HSQ layer, forming a photoresist mask on the second dielectric layer and etching to form an opening in the second dielectric layer leaving the first dielectric layer exposed. The first dielectric layer protects the HSQ from degradation during subsequent stripping.

Additionally, the present invention includes the step of depositing a second masking layer, that is comprised of a hard mask material, adjacent the second insulating layer. The second pattern is aligned with the first pattern such that the first opening and the second opening are contiguous.
