Patent number: 11586457Abstract: Load balancing in a Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) environment, in which a compute migration request is received that indicates a virtual machine to be migrated, a source appliance in which the virtual machine is currently executing, and a destination appliance to which the virtual machine is to be moved by the requested compute migration. The technology determines whether performing the requested compute migration would cause the virtual machine to experience an increased remote data storage Input/Output (I/O) performance penalty as a result of moving the virtual machine to the destination appliance. The disclosed technology may prevent the requested compute migration from being performed in response at least in part to a determination that the requested compute migration would cause the virtual machine to experience an increased remote data storage I/O performance penalty as a result of moving the virtual machine to the destination appliance.Type: GrantFiled: January 15, 2020Date of Patent: February 21, 2023Assignee: EMC IP Holding Company LLCInventors: Gajanan S. Patent number: 7602997Abstract: This invention presents a super-resolution image reconstruction from a sequence of aliased imagery. The sub-pixel shifts (displacement) among the images are unknown due to uncontrolled natural jitter of the imager. A correlation method is utilized to estimate sub-pixel shifts between each low resolution aliased image with respect to a reference image. An error-energy reduction algorithm is derived to reconstruct the high-resolution alias-free output image. The main feature of this proposed error-energy reduction algorithm is that we treat the spatial samples from low-resolution images that possess unknown and irregular (uncontrolled) sub-pixel shifts as a set of constraints to populate an over-sampled (sampled above the desired output bandwidth) processing array. The estimated sub-pixel locations of these samples and their values constitute a spatial domain constraint.Type: GrantFiled: January 19, 2005Date of Patent: October 13, 2009Assignee: The United States of America as represented by the Secretary of the ArmyInventor: Shiqiong Susan Young
