  • Publication number: 20010031292
Abstract: A ball spline nut is provided in each of tie bar penetrating holes formed in a moving platen constituting a mold clamping mechanism of an injection molding machine. On the other hand, a portion of a tie bar one end of which is fixed to a stationary platen, engaging with the tie bar penetrating hole in the moving platen, is made a ball spline shaft. Since there is no clearance between the ball spline shaft and the ball spline nut engaging therewith, in mold clamping and mold releasing processes, the posture of a movable mold attached to the moving platen with respect to a stationary mold attached to the stationary platen is always kept constant.

  • Patent number: 6296472
Abstract: An injection molding machine capable of easily moving a body of the injection molding machine and its associated peripheral equipments, and eliminating daily correction of the position of the peripheral equipments. A rest (5) having a peripheral-equipment mounting plate (13) is fixed to the body (1) of the injection molding machine, and a robot (17) and a peripheral equipment (18) cooperating with the injection molding machine body (1) are mounted on the plate (13). In moving the injection molding machine body (1) to another location, the robot (17) and the peripheral equipment (18) can be transported together with the injection molding machine body (1). Thus, detachment of the peripheral equipments from the injection molding machine and re-connection of cables and piping become unnecessary, and also the relative positioning does not displaced.

  • Patent number: 6179597
Abstract: An automatic lubricator for an injection molding machine, capable of performing proper lubrication in accordance with operation environment of the injection molding machine. A lubrication interval Ls is controlled according to length of cycle time S of the injection molding machine so that the lubrication interval Ls is increased when the cycle time S is long and it is decreased when the cycle time S is short. Further, when a ball screw temperature t1 is high the lubrication interval Ls is accordingly decreased by &Dgr;DL, and when the ball screw temperature t1 is low the lubrication interval Ls is accordingly increased by &Dgr;DL. Also, when the ambient temperature t2 is high the operation time Tp of a lubricating pump 2 is decreased, and when the ambient temperature t2 is low the operation time Tp is increased to stabilize the lubrication quantity.

  • Patent number: 6054075
Abstract: An insert molding method and apparatus not requiring a multiple movable molds and permitting stable insert molding to be performed by means of light, small-sized equipment. A robot for removing a molded product and a robot for placing an insert member are arranged around a mold clamping mechanism, and making them perform removal of a molded product and placement of the insert member, respectively, during a mold opening process of a molding cycle. The molding apparatus does not requirs a plurality of lower molds (stationary molds) and accordingly permits to eliminate a turntable or a sliding table, whereby the molding apparatus can be reduced in size and weight. Further, since only one lower mold suffices to obtain one type of molded products, the manufacturing cost of molds can be reduced and the mold temperature control can be made easier, so that not only the molding conditions are stabilized but also the life of the mold can be prolonged by eliminating the poor positioning.

  • Patent number: 6024560
Abstract: Principal parts of an injection molding machine (1) are formed by joining a stationary platen (3), moving platen (4), mold clamping mechanism section (7), and rear platen (5) in the order named, the stationary platen (3) and the rear platen (5) are connected by means of tie bars (2), and the moving platen (4) is actuated by means of the mold clamping mechanism section (7) that is provided between the rear platen (5) and the moving platen (4). Guide rods (9) are arranged protruding from that surface of the moving platen (4) which is opposite from the surface on which a stationary-side is mounted, whereby a crosshead (10) is guided in sliding motion. Further, the guide rods (9) are caused to penetrate and project from the rear platen (5), and an injection unit (8) is fixed to their respective distal ends. A slide guide for the crosshead (10) and a support guide for the injection unit (8) are formed integrally with each other, whereby the number of components used and the manufacturing cost are reduced.

  • Patent number: 5997780
Abstract: A zero point adjusting method and apparatus for a pressure detector of an injection molding machine, capable of carrying out a zero point adjustment of the pressure detector when external loads acting on the pressure detector are completely removed without disassembling an injection mechanism. An advance limit position Qf and a retreat limit position Qb of a screw are detected by driving the screw with a low output to determine an intermediate position Pm. By moving the screw to the intermediate position Pm, a resin reaction force acting directly on the screw is removed. Reciprocating motion in which an amplitude decreases gradually is imparted to the screw, thereby causing a backlash, having equal plays in the advance and retreat directions, between a ball nut and a ball screw. Then, the zero point adjustment of the pressure detector is made.

  • Patent number: 5968479
Abstract: A diagnostic marker containing (a) a detection system such as an antibody and (b) a fluorescent functional group that is bound to the detection system and represented by the following formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 independently represent hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or the like; R.sup.3 represents an alkyl group, a sulfonic acid-alkyl group or the like; X.sup.- represents an anion species, if required; Y represents a C.sub.1 -C.sub.10 alkylene group or a C.sub.1 -C.sub.10 alkylene group containing one or more atoms selected from the group consisting of oxygen atom, nitrogen atom and sulfur atom. The diagnostic marker emits fluorescence having a wavelength of 780 nm or more when irradiated with near or far infrared rays, and thus useful for infrared endoscopic diagnosis or identification of a focus in surgical operation.

  • Patent number: 5955117
Abstract: The tip of a ball screw (28) is mounted so as to be rotatable with respect to a pusher plate (14) but immovable in the axial direction. A ball nut (31), which mates with the ball screw (28), is attached to a rear plate (2) through a load cell (33). Even though a force in the rotating direction is applied to the ball nut (31) through friction as the ball screw (28) rotates, the applied force never acts as a force to rotate the pusher plate (14). Thus, the level of sliding resistances between the pusher plate (14) and guide rods has nothing to do with the magnitude of the rotatory force of the ball screw, so that resin pressure components can accurately be extracted from the output of the load cell (33).

  • Patent number: 5817258
Abstract: Over the whole range of the injection process, standard injection speeds and pressures are set and sections for injection speed control and sections for pressure control are set according to the length of time t, screw position S, or injection pressure P, each after the start of injection, or following the combination of the length of time and the screw position or of the length of time and the injection pressure. The arrival at the point of changeover from one control section to another is followed by a control mode shift. If the shift is made for speed control, injection speed is controlled in a manner such that actual injection speed may agree with one standard injection pressure, while if pressure control is selected by the shift, there is provided feedback control which is put into practice so that actual injection pressure may coincide with one standard injection pressure.

  • Patent number: 5804224
Abstract: A driving apparatus for an electrically-operated injection molding machine not requiring any bearing nor any connector. An electric motor having a rotor shaft on which a ball screw is integrally formed is mounted on one of a cross-head and a rear platen of a clamping mechanism, while a ball nut threadedly engaged with the rotor shaft is fixed to the other of the cross-head and the rear platen to constitute the driving apparatus for linearly moving the cross-head. As the ball screw is integrally formed on rotor shaft, any connector for connecting these two members is unnecessary. As the ball screw is directly rotated by the motor positioned coaxially with the ball screw, any bearing for bearing a redial force acting on the ball screw and rotor shaft. The apparatus may also be applied to an ejection mechanism, an injection mechanism and a nozzle touch mechanism of the electrically-operated injection molding machine.
