  • Patent number: 5454398
Abstract: A throughflow valve (1) comprising a valve seat (2) and a valve body (3) is intended to permit a given flow of fluid to pass therethrough when the valve is closed. To this end, the mutually abutting surfaces (2a; 3a) of the valve seat and/or the valve body are irregular or roughened, these irregularities having a size of 20-100 .mu.m. The invention also relates to a mould tool provided with corresponding irregular or roughened surface created by a so-called sparking operation.

  • Patent number: 5435991
Abstract: The present invention provides the use of a persistent .pi.-system free radical for the manufacture of a contrast medium for use in magnetic resonance imaging, wherein the electron delocalising .pi.-system of said radical comprises at least one homo or heterocyclic ring, said radical being other than the chloranil semiquinone anion radical or a trityl radical. Also provided are magnetic resonance imaging contrast media containing and methods using such radicals.

  • Patent number: 4976671
Abstract: The invention relates to a range gearbox of planetary type, designed to be attached to a vehicle gearbox, a so-called base gearbox. The annulus or gear ring of the planetary gear set is non-rotatably joined to a shift sleeve, through which the annulus can be locked either to a coupling ring securely joined to the front housing end wall of the range gearbox, or to a coupling ring which is non-rotatably mounted on the input shaft of the range gearbox. The shift sleeve serves as an annulus carrier and displaces the annulus axially during the shift movement.

  • Patent number: 4876907
Abstract: The invention relates to a motor vehicle gearbox with two concentrically mounted input shafts (6,9), each driving an individual countershaft (12,15). The countershafts have gear wheels (16,18,17,19,41) in engagement with gear wheels (21,22,40) on an output shaft. The shafts are arranged in a V-configuration and one countershaft has a disengageable gear wheel (23) in engagement with a gear wheel (11) on the second countershaft to reverse the rotational direction of the latter for driving in reverse. One countershaft (12) has a central synchronizing device (30), by means of which the countershaft, which is drivingly coupled to the temporarily non-driven input shaft, can be accelerated up to a rotational speed determined by the gear speed selected.

  • Patent number: 4589591
Abstract: Joints in packing containers of heat-sealable gas-tight laminate are sensitive to deformation, since this often results in a deterioration of the gas-tightness. This is due to the accumulation of melted thermoplastics which is produced during the heat-sealing. This problem is eliminated in that the sealing zone of the joint is given a limited width and is placed at a distance from the edge of the laminate. A method and an arrangement for realizing this comprises a heating zone whose width is limited in relation to the width of the sealing jaws which are used for the sealing together of the material layers.

  • Patent number: 4375225
Abstract: A mixing valve of the single lever type having a valve housing (1) with a hot water inlet and a cold water inlet. The mixing ratio is determined by two valve plates (8,9) which are rotatable and displaceable relative to one another and which are guided by dogging means (14, 15, 19). A stop means (30), which can be locked relative to the dogging means, is arranged to co-act with an abutment means, which can be fixedly mounted relative to the dogging means, so as to restrict rotation of the dogging means towards a position in which the ratio of hot water and cold water fed to the mixing chamber increases, to a desired value.
