  • Publication number: 20150133888
Abstract: Devices, systems, and techniques for programming drug delivery are described. Such techniques may account for diffusion and mixing of drug within the fluid or allow for more flexible programming options. In one example, a method may include determining one or more fluid delivery parameters (e.g., volume, flow rate, or period of time) for a fluid that is a mixture of two other fluids. The determination may be based on one or more fluid delivery parameters of the two other fluids and/or a concentration profile representing the mixing between the two other fluids. In other examples, drug delivery programming may be facilitated by the selection of various patterns and steps of drug delivery. The system may track volume of delivered fluid to maintain desired dosing of the patient.

  • Patent number: 8995949
Abstract: Devices and systems provide for proximity based selection of an implantable medical device for far field communication with an external device. By using a proximity communication that is limited to the IMD of interest during the selection process, the external device can eliminate those IMDs that are in range of far field communications but are able to receive the proximity communication. Thus, information may be shared via a proximity communication that is validated via a far field communication, or shared via a far field communication as a challenge and then validated via a proximity communication. The proximity communication may be used to initially limit the number of devices that respond to a discovery request and then subsequently used to select the intended implantable medical device as well as automatically select the appropriate therapy application corresponding to the selected IMD.

  • Publication number: 20140332525
Abstract: A notification appliance enclosure is disclosed that facilitates convenient attachment and removal of a cover thereof The enclosure may include a housing having at least one retaining catch extending from a first side thereof and at least one pivot catch extending from a second side thereof. The enclosure may further include a cover adapted to fit over the housing, the cover having at least one retaining catch recess and at least one pivot catch recess formed therein and adapted to receive the retaining catch and the pivot catch, respectively, to secure the cover against movement away from the housing when the cover and the housing are connected to one another. The cover may further include a catch release pocket adapted to receive the tip of a tool or implement for allowing the retaining catch and the retaining catch recess to be forcibly moved out of engagement with one another.

  • Publication number: 20140316925
Abstract: A method and system of obtaining a bid from a provider of services, involving creating a client request for proposal (RFP) document, storing the client RFP document in a data store, inviting a bidding service provider to respond a stored client RFP document, allowing an invited bidding service provider to access the stored client RFP document, allowing the bidding service provider to respond to the stored client RFP document, obtaining all completed responses and all rate elements from bidding service providers, generating a comparative financial analysis showing a sorted list of responses, generating a weighted report, the generated weighted report comprising a display of bids having a best compliance with the client RFP document in top down order based on the comparative financial analysis, and providing the generated weighted report to the client.

  • Patent number: 8868201
Abstract: Methods, devices and systems are disclosed that provide for dynamically adjusting the valid lifespan of a session key for wireless communication sessions established between at least two medical devices. Adjusting the session key lifetime balances protecting the communications link so that it is not unnecessarily susceptible to eavesdropping by third parties or other interference while obviating the need for a user to repeatedly perform access control steps.

  • Patent number: 8839468
Abstract: An emergency eyewash unit includes a pair of water discharge ports oriented to produce a pair of upwardly directed, diverging water streams for inside-out flush flow of contaminants from a person's eyes. These eyewash streams can be combined with a plurality of smaller upwardly directed facewash streams for flushing contaminants from a person's face. The eyewash and/or facewash streams are produced by an eyewash body adapted for rotatable mounting onto a water supply conduit, with a locking clip normally preventing undesired rotational disassembly. The eyewash body may be used in combination with an overhead emergency shower which, in one preferred form, includes a shower spray head carrying multiple flow control and flow shaper elements to produce a substantially uniformly dispersed shower spray pattern.

  • Patent number: 8801199
Abstract: A reflex reflector can include a base having a portion covered with a metallic coating and a portion that is not covered with a metallic coating. A reflector lens can be mounted on only the portion without the metallic coating. The portion of the base with the metallic coating remains exposed and serves as an accent piece. The reflex reflector can be mounted in a recess provided in a bumper cover for a vehicle.

  • Patent number: 8797724
Abstract: A notification appliance enclosure that facilitates convenient attachment and removal of a housing. The enclosure may include a mounting plate having a catch lip and a retaining wedge projecting from a surface thereof. The catch lip and the retaining wedge may be spaced apart to define a retaining pocket therebetween, and the catch lip may have a latch release aperture formed therethrough. A housing may fit over the mounting plate and may have a latch tongue extending from a surface thereof fits within the retaining pocket. A release latch may extend from a surface of latch tongue and may fit within the latch release aperture. The engagement between the release latch and the latch release aperture prevents the housing from being pulled away from the mounting plate. The retaining wedge resists movement of the latch tongue and thereby resists disengagement of the release latch from the latch release aperture.
