  • Publication number: 20090168598
Abstract: A method for estimating formation permeability from measured sonic wave Stoneley attributes and particularly the Stoneley attributes of slowness (DTst) and attenuation (ATTst), taking into consideration the existence of a heavy walled drill collar at the end of the drill string and the relative lack of borehole mud cake during a drilling operation. In the subject LWD application a real-time qualitative indication for fracture and permeable zones is estimated from Stoneley measurements. This information is useful to a driller to make important timely decisions about drilling and completion programs.

  • Publication number: 20070152013
Abstract: A nail gun back cover includes a back cover shell body made of magnesium alloy. The inner side of the shell body includes a first cylinder and a second cylinder surrounding the first cylinder extensively formed therein. A groove is formed between the first cylinder and the second cylinder. In addition, a valve mechanism is formed in the shell body. The valve mechanism includes a fixed valve securely connected to the first cylinder and a movable valve contained in the groove. The movable valve can move relative to the fixed valve so as to control the air flow. Furthermore, some elastic bodies are used to touch the end surfaces of the groove and the movable valve. Moreover, a fixed ring is securely fastened to the back cover, so as to limit the range of movement of the movable valve. In this manner, the overall weight of the nail gun is reduced, making the nail gun much easier to operate.

  • Patent number: 7149214
Abstract: A technique that may be used to limit the amount of flooding that occurs for a particular virtual local area network (VLAN) in a data network. Limits are established for VLANs processed by an intermediate node. Each limit indicates a number of forwarding database entries that may be associated with a particular VLAN. If the number of entries in the forwarding database reaches the limit established for a particular VLAN, an action is taken which may include limiting the amount of flooding that occurs for that VLAN.

  • Patent number: 6876031
Abstract: A transistor structure having a dedicated erase gate where the transistor can be used as a memory cell is disclosed. The presently preferred embodiment of the transistor comprises a floating gate disposed on a substrate and having a control gate and an erase gate overlapping said floating gate, with drain and source regions doped on the substrate. By providing a dedicated erase gate, the gate oxide underneath the control gate can be made thinner and can have a thickness that is conducive to the scaling of the transistor. The overall cell size of the transistor remains the same and the program and read operation can remain the same. Both the common source and buried bitline architecture can be used, namely twin well or triple well architectures. A memory circuit using the transistors of the present invention is disclosed as well for flash memory circuit applications.

Abstract: Nonwoven webs having substantially aligned fibers can be formed in an apparatus having a direction of motion corresponding to the direction of web formation. The web is formed in the presence of at least one secondary fluid stream that oscillates the filaments or resulting attenuated fibers to and fro generally in and against the direction of motion so that a majority of the collected fibers are aligned within ±20° of the direction of motion and fibers having lengths of about 1-10 cm can be teased from the web. The resulting nonwoven webs are especially useful for forming pleated filtration media having pleats generally transverse to the direction of motion.

  • Publication number: 20020133578
Abstract: A method of serving residential broadband subscribers includes establishing a client-server mechanism between the network device of a residential user and a network device manufacturer or an Internet service provider. The network device is provided with a unique identifier. The dynamic IP addresses assigned to the network device are automatically reported and updated to a web server of the device manufacturer or the service provider. The network device can be located and probed according to the identifier and the IP addresses. To facilitate the diagnosis of network devices attached to a residential gateway/router behind the firewall formed by the gateway/router, a protocol is also defined to report and update the network configuration to the web server. The private network configuration behind the firewall is recorded and analyzed for troubleshooting the residential network.
