  • Patent number: 6018240
Abstract: An after-change supply prevention unit prevents a cross coil from being supplied with a driving pulse signal with a duty ratio corresponding to a deflection angle calculated based on a period of a running pulse in a duration in which a period range judging unit judges that the period of the running pulse generated with the running of a vehicle is not in a predetermined range after the input state of the running pulse is shifted from the input state at the stoppage of the vehicle to the input state in running of the vehicle. While the supply of the driving pulse signal is prevented, a driving pulse signal with a duty ratio corresponding to a deflection angle calculated based on the period of the running pulse at the stoppage of the vehicle is supplied to the cross coil.

  • Patent number: 5918903
Abstract: A seat belt hanging and holding member of the present invention is capable of reducing manufacturing cost by reducing the material cost required for a coating member while improving safety. The seat belt hanging and holding member 10 slidably hangs and holds a seat belt by folding back an intermediate part of the seat belt (waving belt) 74. The member 10 comprises a base member, 20 made of a metal plate having a slot 22 and a coating member 30 made of a synthetic resin which covers at least the periphery of the slot 22 of the base member 20 and is provided with a seat belt-inserting hole 31 on a part corresponding to the slot 22. The slot 22 is provided with an edge part 22a corresponding to at least the part on which the seat belt 74 is folded back, which is formed in a smoothly curved surface along the direction in which the seat belt 74 is folded back.

  • Patent number: 5899499
Abstract: A seat belt anchorage plate for a seat belt device formed with a plate shaped member (base) 2 is provided with a slot 6 into which a belt (waist belt) 13 is inserted and which has long edge parts opposed with each other. The belt 13 is folded back along the one long edge part 691 of the opposed long edge parts in the slot 6 so that the one long edge part 691 bears the tension of the belt 13. The one long edge part 691 is formed so as to expand in the direction opposite to that of the tension of the belt 13 toward a central part from both ends in its longitudinal direction.

  • Patent number: 5243277
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a cross coil having a first coil winding for generating a first magnetic field when an electrical current flows therethrough and a second coil winding for generating a second magnetic field when an electrical current flows therethrough, and the second coil winding being wound so as to cross the first coil winding to each other. The cross coil comprises a mechanism for equalizing the magnitude of each of the first and second magnetic fields generated when identical electrical currents flows through each of the coil windings. The equalizing mechanism comprises the arrangement of the turns of the windings in which the individual turns are alternately wound on top of the turns for the other winding.

  • Patent number: 5214597
Abstract: In a cross coil type indicator having a pair of cross coils arranged in quadrature, a magnet rotor having a shaft and a pointer attached to the shaft and rotatably positioned within the coils, the pointer is positioned to indicate a variable by flowing pulse currents through the coils in which the duty ratio is related to the variable value. Digital data corresponding to the pointer angle is stored as sin or cos .theta. data in a memory such as a read only memory (ROM) to enable simple calculation of pointer position from the duty ratio of the current pulse. The configuration disclosed requires only a minimum memory size. The need for extra memory capacity is minimized by storing, within a sin .theta. and cosine .theta. generating means, only sin .theta. data within the range of .phi..degree..ltoreq..theta..ltoreq.90.degree..

Digital data corresponding to the pointer angle is stored as sin .THETA. or cos .THETA. data in a read only memory to enable simple calculation of pointer position from the duty ratio of the current pulse. A stop pin is provided to limit rotation of the pointer at the end of the scale; a circuit is provided for determining when the pointer is adjacent to the pin or will be driven against the stop pin, and the drive currents are modified in response to such conditions to reduce repetitive striking of the pin by the pointer and to minimize the force with which the pointer is driven against the pin at the stop pin end of the scale.

  • Patent number: 4797230
Abstract: Applicants' invention relates to a method for dissolving a solute material in a container by contacting the solute with a solvent in another container. Applicants' method relies upon the difference in the specific gravities of the solvent and the solute to create a convection current between their respective containers. The material, either the solute or the solvent, having the larger specific gravity is placed above the material having the smaller specific gravity, and the two materials are brought into contact. The solute dissolves in the solvent, and the resulting solution, which has a lower or higher specific gravity than the solvent, causes a convection current which draws the heavier material down and the lighter material up. As the convection current proceeds, the undissolved solute continues to come into contact with fresh solvent accelerating the dissolution process.

  • Patent number: 4420345
Abstract: A cast article of aluminum alloy is produced by pouring into a mold a molten Al-Si-Mg type casting alloy having an antimony (Sb) content in the range of about 0.03%-1.0% by weight and, while the alloy cast body is cooling following complete solidification but before its temperature has fallen below 450.degree. C., placing the solidified cast body into a heating furnace kept at temperatures in the range of from 500.degree. to 550.degree. C. and retaining it at an intermediately high-temperature within that temperature range for not more than 30 minutes, subsequently quenching said cast body in cold water or hot water and thereafter subjecting the quenched cast body to a conventional artificial aging treatment. The resulting cast articles are, in terms of strength, toughness and resistance to thermal shocks, comparable with or superior to cast articles obtained by conventional methods but can be manufactured in a reduced period of time with consequential savings in cost.
