    Abstract: A thermosetting resin composition, a solution composition of the resin and a thermosetting dry film formed out of the resin are disclosed. The thermosetting resin composition contains a specific resin component as the main component. The resin component consists of (A) 100 weight parts of an aromatic polyimide; and (B) 5 to 2,000 weight parts of (a) a terminal-modified imide oligomer or (b) an unsaturated imide compound. The aromatic polyimide (A) is formed from a tetracarboxylic acid ingredient which contains 2,3,3',4'-biphenyltetracarboxylic acid or its derivative in an amount of at least 60 mole % and an aromatic diamine ingredient. The polyimide has such a high molecular weight that the logarithmic viscosity (concentration: 0.5 g/100 ml of solvent; solvent: N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone; and temperature of measurement: 30.degree. C.) is not less than 0.2. The polyimide is soluble in an organic polar solvent.

    Abstract: An automatic shift lever locking device is capable of locking the shift of an automatic transmission in a specific non-driving shift position against movement from this position unless a predetermined condition is met. The device has a detent pin provided on the shift lever and movable in response to pressing of a push button on the shift lever, a movable member engageable with the detent pin, and a lock member engageable with the movable member so as to prevent the detent pin from moving out of a lock position thereby to maintain the shift lever locked in the non-driving position. Therefore, when the shift lever is not locked, the manual force exerted by the driver on the push button is not transmitted to the lock members and other parts mechanically or electrically connected to the lock member.

    Abstract: A shift lever apparatus for an automatic transmission of a vehicle includes shift positions of which are arranged in the order of a parking range, a reverse range, a neutral range, and a drive range and are selectable in a single shift range by a swinging operation of the shift lever. The apparatus is provided with a control member which is adapted to control the movement of a moving plate caused by the pressing of a detent pin. Control is effected such that even if a pushbutton is pressed, a shifting operation from the parking range to another range is prohibited when the parking range is selected as the shift position and a foot brake of the vehicle is not pressed with the foot. Furthermore, even if the pushbutton is pressed, a shifting operation from the neutral range toward the reverse range is prohibited when a speed of the vehicle is above a predetermined value and a shifting operation is effected to the neutral range.

An elastic member between the socket and the ball seat applies an axial force to said first and second head members, whereby a substantial preload on the ball joint permits take-up of wear during use.

    Abstract: A locking apparatus for a shift lever in an automatic transmission of a vehicle which permits the shift lever to move from a vehicle non-driving position to a vehicle driving position by means of an electrically operated member, such as a solenoid, in the presence of a predetermined condition such as that of applying a brake pedal. When the shift lever is located in the non-driving position, a detent pin for inhibiting the shift lever from shifting is engaged with a lock recess formed in a lock member and the lock member is held in a lock position by means for the electrically operated member. Even though the electrically operated member fails to function due to a malfunction or the like, an occupant can manually shift the shift lever from the non-driving position to the driving position in order to move the vehicle.

    Abstract: A control cable connecting device for connecting the cable of a control cable to an operated device. The control cable connecting device comprises a guide sleeve, an operating member slidably fitted in the guide sleeve, supporting lugs fixed to the outer surface of the guide sleeve with a predetermined space therebetween, a guide block fixedly connected to the extremity of the outer casing of a control cable, a driving member slidably fitted in the guide block and fixed to the free end of the cable of the control cable, and a clip for fastening the guide block to the supporting lugs. The driving member can be connected operatively to the operating member simply by placing the guide block containing the driving member in the space between the supporting lugs, and simply by fastening the guide block to the supporting lugs with the clip. Thus, the control cable connecting device requires a small space for installation and is capable of being assembled easily.

    Abstract: A transmission operating apparatus for automatic transmission wherein, when a shift lever of the automatic transmission is shifted to a specific position such as a parking position, a detent pin provided for the shift lever is engaged with a movable body and is moved to a first position so as to be engaged with detent means so that the shift to another shift position is prevented. A lock is engaged with the movable body which has been moved, together with the detent pin, to the first shift position so that the lock means cannot be separated from the movable body if a driver does not perform any special operation such as footing the brake or the like. Therefore, the movable body cannot be moved to the second position, and the shift lever cannot be moved to another shift position. The movable body is positioned at the second position when the shift lever is positioned at another shift position, while the same is engaged with the detent pin immediately after the shift lever is operated to the specific position.

This polyimide film is suitably employable as a support of a magnetic recording medium.
