  • Patent number: 4311246
Abstract: A synthetic resin bottle produced by blow-molding a parison of a synthetic resin. In the blow-molding process of the parison, the portion of the parison supporting the handle is prevented from being expanded, thereby to sufficiently increase the supporting strength of the handle. Since the bottle product has its drum recessed in the vicinity of the handle, the grip of the handle can be facilitated.

  • Patent number: 4299754
Abstract: A surface treating agent for fabricated articles of polyolefins which is composed of an organic solvent solution of a modified polymer resulting from the graft copolymerization of a propylene-ethylene copolymer with maleic acid or maleic anhydride. The propylene-ethylene copolymer has a propylene content of 50 to 75 mole % and a crystallinity determined by an X-ray diffraction method of 2 to 20%. The amount of maleic acid or maleic anhydride grafted is 0.5 to 15% by weight. The modified polymer has an intrinsic viscosity of at least 0.3, and is dissolved in the organic solvent in a concentration of 10 to 100 kg/m.sup.3 of solvent. The treating agent is suitable as an undercoat of the polyolefin articles and permits coating of a paint with markedly improved adhesion.

  • Patent number: 4288478
Abstract: Bottles made of saturated polyester resin, particularly polyethylene terephthalate resin, by orientation blow molding exhibit phenomenal properties and characteristics, but suffer from a serious disadvantage in that the bottle neck is greatly inferior in the properties and characteristics to the bottle body, because the neck is molded into the final form without undergoing biaxial orientation. Biaxial orientation gives the bottle body outstanding properties and performance because it causes the molecules of a molding resin material to be arranged in the same direction. Based on this principle, the bottle neck is given the same effect as is produced with biaxial orientation by applying tensile force in a certain direction to the molecules of a molding resin material while it is still in a temperature range at which orientation takes place.

  • Patent number: 4276986
Abstract: A bottle made of a saturated polyester resin and having one or more strip-shaped projection for the reinforcement and ornament purposes is provided, which bottle is produced by a method comprising the steps of preparing a parison having an opened upper end and a closed bottom end from a saturated polyester resin, welding a strip-shaped piece made of the same saturated polyester resin on said parison so as to extend in the vertical direction, and then biaxially orientating said parison and said strip-shaped piece as an integral body.

  • Patent number: 4216883
Abstract: In a manually operable atomizer wherein a piston is operated through an atomizing head, so as to cause a pumping action to suck up the liquid from a liquid container and then pressurize the liquid to atomize the same through a nozzle, a flange is provided to extend outwardly from the wall of a cylinder of an atomizer. The flange is provided with a circumferential upright protrusion and an annular recess formed at the radially inner side of the circumferential upright protrusion. A supporting member for supporting the atomizer is adapted to be attached to the neck opening of the liquid container, and is provided with an annular inner wall adapted to be fittingly received by the annular recess of the flange, an intermediate wall adapted to hold the circumferential upright protrusion of the flange and an annular outer wall for stabilizing the attaching of the supporting member.

  • Patent number: 4198457
Abstract: Herein disclosed is a molded article of a synthetic resin having on its smooth surface a decorative pattern which is viewable as a stereoscopic image from the outside. The molded article includes a substratum which forms the general structure of the molded article and which is molded of a material consisting essentially of a synthetic resin and an additive. The article further includes a decorative surface layer which is formed on the substratum in a manner to provide a generally smooth finish. This decorative surface layer is composed both of a decorative pattern portion figured by the flow marks inside of the trace of a relief pattern, which has once been formed during the molding process of the article, and of a ground portion. The decorative surface layer is made during the molding process integrally with and of the same material as that of the substratum.

  • Patent number: 4193551
Abstract: A manually operable atomizer of a type adapted to pressurizing the liquid to be atomized by a pumping action of a piston, upon depression of the latter through an atomizing head, the liquid has been sucked up from a container, and atomizing the pressurized liquid from a nozzle. The atomizer has a flange annexed to a cylinder which is adapted to cooperate with the piston in performing the pumping action, a connecting member secured to a neck opening portion of the container and adapted to hold the flange and a holding member opposing to the connecting member and adapted to hold the flange, so that the atomizing mechanism including the piston and the cylinder are stably held on the container. The holding member is so shaped as to surround the connecting member, thereby to prevent any external force from acting on the flange.

  • Patent number: 3962006
Abstract: A tubular container having a collapsible body welded to a head member, and a method of producing the same. The collapsible body and the head member are made of laminated films having impermeable layers therein, the impermeable layers of the body and the head member abutting or overlapping each other to form an impermeable layer of the shoulder portion thereby minimizing penetration or permeation of oil components, perfumes, etc. contained in the contents of the container or infiltration of oxygen into the container. The method of producing the aforementioned container comprises the steps of continuously extruding thermoplastic resin with an impermeable layer, cutting the resin to form a disc, welding the open end of the sleeve to close it, and forming a head member by pressing.
