  • Publication number: 20080253354
Abstract: A communication apparatus determines a hibernation period on the basis of the amount of an offset in beacon period start timing among multiple beacon groups. The communication apparatus is placed in a hibernation status in accordance with the determined hibernation period. Thus, an offset in beacon period start timing among the beacon groups that would occur while the device is in hibernation can be prevented and the need for merging beacon groups and decrease in data rate during such merging are prevented.

  • Patent number: 7158783
Abstract: When setting information for wireless communication is registered for a peripheral device by an information processing apparatus, the original setting information set in the information processing apparatus is backed up, then the setting information based on unique information of the peripheral device is set in both the information processing apparatus and the peripheral device, thereby a wireless communication is established between the information processing apparatus and the peripheral device. Then the original setting information is copied in the peripheral device via the wireless communication. Thereafter, the information processing apparatus restores the backed up original setting information.

  • Publication number: 20050125682
Abstract: An SSID and an encryption key of a wireless LAN apparatus of computer peripheral equipment are calculated based on a manufacturer's serial number of the computer peripheral equipment to be stored in the wireless LAN apparatus of the computer peripheral equipment. On the other hand, for an SSID and an encryption key of a computer wirelessly connected to the computer peripheral equipment, when driver software of the computer peripheral equipment is installed, a user inputs the manufacturer's serial number of the computer peripheral equipment, and the SSID and the encryption key of a wireless LAN apparatus are calculated on the computer to be stored in the wireless LAN apparatus of the computer. Thus, the same SSID and encryption key as those of the computer peripheral equipment can be set in the computer.

  • Patent number: 6381447
Abstract: A foldable mobile telephone which is constituted of a main body and a lid being open/close-able and is able to detect open/close state of the lid is provided. The main body provides a receiver for ultrasonic wave and the lid provides a microphone for ultrasonic wave. An ultrasonic oscillator intermittently generates an ultrasonic signal at each fixed interval and gives the ultrasonic signal to the receiver for ultrasonic wave. The receiver for ultrasonic wave receives the ultrasonic signal from the ultrasonic oscillator and generates an ultrasonic wave. The microphone for ultrasonic wave receives the ultrasonic wave generated by the receiver for ultrasonic wave and generates an ultrasonic detecting signal. An ultrasonic level judging circuit receives the ultrasonic detecting signal from the microphone for ultrasonic wave and judges whether the level of this ultrasonic detecting signal is higher or lower than a decided level and judges the open/close state of the lid and generates a judging signal.

  • Patent number: 5962950
Abstract: In a surface acoustic wave apparatus, a surface acoustic wave element for obtaining a convolution signal is housed in a recess of a substrate. Since the surface acoustic wave element is housed in the recess of the substrate in this surface acoustic wave apparatus, the apparatus can be compactified. This effect of compactification is remarkable, because the surface acoustic wave element has an output electrode for obtaining the convolution signal and thus originally has a big element size. When a laminate substrate is used as the substrate, a configuration for effectively using surfaces of respective layers may be arranged in such a manner that output wiring of the convolution signal is separately formed in the layers. This further enhances the effect of compactification. There are further disclosed a spread spectrum signal receiver using the above surface acoustic wave apparatus for receiving a spread spectrum signal, and a spread spectrum communication system using the spread spectrum signal receiver.

  • Patent number: 5917850
Abstract: A spread spectrum receiving apparatus is constructed by a generator for generating a reference clock, a phase shift circuit for shifting the phase of the reference clock generated by the generator in accordance with a code timing in a reception signal and the reference clock, and a de-spreading circuit for de-spreading the reception signal in accordance with the reference clock whose phase is shifted by the phase shift circuit. The de-spreading circuit generates a code for de-spreading in accordance with the phase shifted reference clock. The phase shift circuit has a calculator for calculating a phase shift amount so as to synchronize the code timing in the reception signal with the code for reception in accordance with a deviation between the code timing in the reception signal and the reference clock.

  • Patent number: 5815055
Abstract: A matched filter has an input IDT and an output IDT, and also has a device for preventing propagating surface acoustic waves from diverging. By preventing the divergence of surface acoustic waves, signals obtained in units of electrode finger pairs of the output IDT are uniformed. Furthermore, this application also discloses the following arrangement. That is, an arrangement for converging surface acoustic waves is adopted, and the width of surface acoustic waves input to the output IDT is set to be larger than at least the crossing width of electrode fingers, nearest to the input IDT, of those of the output IDT, so that some surface acoustic waves propagate along non-crossing portions of the electrode fingers, on the input IDT side, of those of the output IDT. With this arrangement, the influence of the crossing portions of the electrode fingers, closer to the input IDT, on the surface acoustic waves input to the crossing portions of the electrode fingers, farther from the input IDT, can be relaxed.

  • Patent number: 5459786
Abstract: Controlled by a signal level produced by a microphone (12), a noise suppressing circuit (25) supplies a first attenuator (16) with a local level which is equal to the signal level and is suppressed to a predetermined output level when the signal level is lower and higher than a predetermined input level. Cooperating with a drive level produced by a second attenuator (17) to drive a loudspeaker (13), the local level makes a comparator unit (21-23) produce a control signal for making the first attenuator give smaller and greater amounts of attenuation to the signal level with the drive level rendered by the second attenuator low and high when positive and negative values are had, respectively, by an input difference equal to the local level less the drive level. Preferably, the local level is suppressed by a level difference had by the signal level above the predetermined input level.

  • Patent number: 5347355
Abstract: In a signal processing apparatus and method, original two-phase signals each having the possibility of amplitude fluctuation are received by an input portion. From the original two-phase signals received by the input portion, new two-phase signals are formed by a signal processing portion. The signal processing portion forms an intermediate stage two-phase signal and a phase component eliminated signal having the phase components of the original signals eliminated therefrom in parallel from the original two-phase signals, and eliminates the fluctuation component of amplitude by the offsetting process of respective ones of the two-phase signals and the phase component eliminated signal to thereby form the new two-phase signals. The new two-phase signals have a predetermined phase relation with the original two-phase signals. The new two-phase signals are output from an output portion. This specification also discloses a displacement detecting apparatus using such a signal processing apparatus.
