  • Patent number: 4706141
Abstract: A video tape recorder, according to the present invention, comprises a mechanical chassis supporting a mechanism for recording and reproducing video signals on a magnetic video tape housed in a cassette. The mechanical chassis moves essentially on a horizontal plane at a load position and an ejecting position. At the load position, the mechanical chassis projects frontward from an outer cover housing of the video tape recorder for loading and/or ejecting a magnetic video tape cassette. Preferably, the recorder has at least two load positions and can perform recording and/or reproduction at either load position. At a first load position, the mechanical chassis is housed within the internal space of the recorder housing. At second load position, the mechanical chassis projects at least partway from the recorder housing. A push-button operated controller for operating the recorder is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4621322
Abstract: In a multiple computer system in which a plurality of computer stations are connected for mutual data transfer via a common data bus, at least one computer station is provided with a fail safe facility which prevents disruption of the entire system due to malfunction of the computer station. The computer is preprogrammed to perform an input/output circuit diagnosis routine after power-up and before control program execution which causes the input/output circuit to output a coded pulse train signal. An abnormality detection circuit receives the coded pulse signal, converts it to a parallel-bit word, and compares the derived word to a stored, predetermined word. If the words match, the detection circuit causes a switching circuit to connect the computer to the common data bus; otherwise, the computer remains disconnected from the rest of the multiple computer system.

  • Patent number: 4581731
Abstract: A receiver is applied to optical communication using an optical pulse signal carrying data which is cyclically updated. The optical signal is converted to a corresponding electrical pulse signal. The data is extracted from the electrical signal. The extracted data from successive cycles are compared. In response to the result of comparison between the data, a determination is made as to the number of cycles in which the extracted data is at a given value. When the determined number of cycles reaches a variable preset number, a previously used data value is replaced by the given value. The amplitudes of the electrical signal pulses are compared with a reference level. The preset number is varied in accordance with the result of comparison between the pulse amplitudes and the reference level.

  • Patent number: 4539643
Abstract: A fuel cut-off control can prolong a period of time in which the engine speed is maintained at a range suitable for performing fuel cut-off and shorten a period of time in which the engine speed is in a fuel recovery range to minimize fuel consumption during engine deceleration. In a fuel cut-off control system in a fuel injection internal combustion engine with an automatic transmission, the fuel cut-off control system is responsive to a brake switch signal and an engine speed signal having a value above a fuel recovery threshold to decrease the value of a fuel cut-off threshold to again perform the fuel cut-off even in the normal fuel recovery range. Down shifting of a transmission gear is performed to increase engine speed to a level beyond the fuel cut-off threshold to prolong the fuel cut-off period.
