Abstract: A method and apparatus for depositing a material layer onto a substrate is described. The method includes delivering a mixture of precursors for the material layer into a process chamber and depositing the material layer on the substrate at low temperature. The material layer can be used as an encapsulating layer for various display applications which require low temperature deposition process due to thermal instability of underlying materials used. In one aspect, the encapsulating layer includes one or more material layers (multilayer) having one or more barrier layer materials and one or more low-dielectric constant materials. The encapsulating layer thus deposited provides reduced surface roughness, improved water-barrier performance, reduce thermal stress, good step coverage, and can be applied to many substrate types and many substrate sizes. Accordingly, the encapsulating layer thus deposited provides good device lifetime for various display devices, such as OLED devices.

Abstract: A method for sensing vibration of a washing machine including an outer tub installed within a main body, an inner tub rotatably installed within the outer tub, and a motor that drives the inner tub, includes: distributing the laundry put in the inner tub; sensing actual vibration generated when the motor is acceleratedly operated; sensing unbalance mass generated during the accelerated operation of the motor; comparing the sensed actual vibration and the sensed unbalance mass with a reference vibration and a reference unbalance mass; and driving the motor based on the comparison result of the vibration and the unbalance mass.

Abstract: A method for verifying areas within an image corresponding to monetary banknotes includes: dividing the image into a plurality of verification sections; generating a banknote boundary map having border sections corresponding to boundaries of valid monetary banknotes; generating a texture decision map from the image having texture sections each having texture values within a valid range according to a valid monetary banknote, determining objects in the texture decision map by removing texture sections in the texture decision map corresponding to border sections in the banknote boundary map; calculating a texture property value for objects according to texture feature values for each verification section; calculating shape property values for each object; and further removing texture sections from the texture decision map corresponding to objects that do not have the texture property value within a first predetermined range and the shape property value within a second predetermined range.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for forming an organic thin film using a good solvent and a non-solvent to promote crystallization of an organic material. The method may enable the formation of a dense, uniform, highly ordered organic thin film by a wet process in a simple and an economical manner. Therefore, the organic thin film may be used as a gate insulating layer or a semiconductor layer to fabricate an organic electronic device having improved electrical properties, e.g., increased charge carrier mobility. Further disclosed are an organic thin film formed by the method and an organic electronic device including the organic thin film.

Abstract: A color processing method for identification of areas within an image corresponding to monetary banknotes includes dividing the image into a plurality of sections; extracting color histogram data for each section; assigning a color vector for each section according to the color histogram data for the section; comparing the color vector for each section to a color lookup table to determine a probability of the section corresponding to monetary banknotes; and selecting probable sections having the probability exceeding a first predetermined threshold.

Abstract: Provided are moving picture encoding apparatus and method skipping intra prediction in encoding mode determination using rate-distortion (RD) costs and determining an encoding mode at high speed. The moving picture encoding method includes the steps of: setting the lowest one of rate-distortion costs of macroblocks adjacent to a macroblock to be encoded as a threshold value; setting the lowest one of mode-specific distortion costs obtained by inter prediction for the macroblock to be encoded as an optimum inter mode distortion cost; comparing the threshold value with the optimum inter mode distortion cost; and when the threshold value is larger than the optimum inter mode distortion cost, as a result of the comparison, skipping intra prediction and setting a mode having the optimum inter mode distortion cost as a final encoding mode.

Abstract: A key generation method for self-configuration is provided which includes selecting existing nodes as many as a predefined reference number t from nodes which configure a network; transmitting a partial key request message to the selected existing nodes; and generating a node key based on randomized partial keys received in response to the partial key request. Accordingly, when a new node intends to join the network, the existing nodes forming the network can allocate a node key to the new node by themselves. Also, whether the node key of the new node is compromised or not can be verified using the error-checking witness.

The Hungarian algorithm is stored in a tool storage unit to calculate the optimum solution. A statistical-data calculator calculates statistical data to convert costs of the initial cost table into other costs. Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of call setup using packet call fixed routing in SGSN of mobile communication network which makes it possible to set up a packet call fixed route appropriate for the packet call satisfying Section 23.060 of the 3GPP standard. The present invention checks validity of resource information inputted from an operator if packet call fixed routing is requested by the operator and designates the resource as the resource for packet call fixed routing by transmitting resource information inputted from the operator to a processor that processes the call and a processor that administrates if the relevant resource is valid. The present invention makes it possible to set up a fixed route appropriate for the packet call satisfying Section 23.060 of the 3GPP standard by performing call setup using the resource designated for packet call fixed routing if packet call setup is requested by the operator.

Abstract: A method for the preparation of water-soluble chitosan with high purity and biological activity includes steps of: reacting chitosan oligo sugar acid salt, covalently bonded to an organic or inorganic acid, with trialkylamine in phosphate buffered saline followed by addition of an organic solvent to remove acid salt at C-2 position; adding the thus obtained reaction mixture to an inorganic acid to remove trialkylamine salt at C-6 position; and passing the thus obtained free amine chitosan through an activated carbon/ion exchange resin. The free amine chitosan is water-soluble and has a high bioavailability for application to the medicine and food industries.

Abstract: A robust genotyping method using a DNA chip is provided. In the DNA chip used in the genotyping method, optimal probe pairs of a wild-perfect match probe and a mutant-perfect match probe are immobilized for each mutation site on a substrate. The method includes setting up a genotyping algorithm using data obtained from hybridization of an identified standard nucleic acid to the DNA chip, and genotyping an unknown target nucleic acid by substituting input vectors that are calculated from hybridization of the target nucleic acid to the DNA chip into the genotyping algorithm. The results of genotyping the target nucleic acid using the optimal probe pairs for each mutation site are statistically robust to errors.

Abstract: A frequency synthesizer for mixing reference frequencies using at least one control signal has a local oscillator, frequency dividers for dividing a frequency generated from the local oscillator and generating at least one control signal, and a single side band (SSB) mixer for mixing the reference frequencies, using the frequency generated from the local oscillator and the control signal. The frequency synthesizer has a simplified structure, and can easily mix reference frequency signals without a need for additional power.
