  • Patent number: 7613187
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a shared Local Area Network (LAN) emulation method and apparatus. The method includes the following four steps. At the first step, a Logical Link Identifier (LLID) management table is set up to assign unique LLIDs to a plurality of Optical Network Units (ONUs) and manage the assigned LLIDs so as to identify the plurality of ONUs connected to a single Optical Line Terminal (OLT). Thereafter, a MAC address table is set up for the LLIDs to learn MAC addresses of the ONUs. Thereafter, the unique LLIDs are assigned to ONUs when the ONUs request registration from the OLT. Finally, data frames, which are received by a Shared LAN Emulation (SLE) layer of the OLT, are bridged using the LLIDs, VIDs of Virtual LANs to which the ONUs belong and destination MAC addresses of the data frames so as to provide a single matched port between a Logical Link Control (LLC) layer and a MAC layer of the OLT.

  • Publication number: 20090262015
Abstract: A method and system for determining a location of a mobile communication device for an improvement of a positioning through a self-learning processing algorithm. In the method and system for determining a location of a mobile communication device, a self-learning processing unit batch processes GPS-based positioning results accumulated in a first self-learning database, and generates a sector direction value. Also, the self-learning processing unit generates optimized environment parameters, which is necessary for wireless network-based positioning, and basic data for a pattern matching, and updates the optimized environment parameters and basic data in a second self-learning database. Accordingly, the system for determining a location of a mobile communication device performs a positioning through a pattern matching method by using results accumulated in the second self-learning database.

  • Publication number: 20090233365
Abstract: An arginine-grafted bioreducible poly(disulfide amine) (“ABP”) as a reagent for efficient and nontoxic gene delivery is described. ABP forms positively charged nano-particles of less than 200 nm with plasmid DNA. ABP is biodegraded under reducing conditions, such as the cytoplasm. ABP exhibits much higher transfection efficiency than polyethyleneimine in mammalian cells and exhibits no cytotoxicity.

  • Patent number: 7535924
Abstract: An address resolution protocol (ARP) processing method for Ethernet matching is provided in which a message authentication code (MAC) request message including IP information is received from another application module and provides a MAC corresponding to the MAC request message, the method including: determining whether a MAC matching the IP information included in the MAC request message is stored; determining whether the MAC request message includes Ethernet over synchronous optical network/synchronous digital hierarchy (SONET/SDH) (EoS) channel information; if it is determined that the MAC request message does not include EoS channel information, detecting EoS channel information that is previously stored and that matches the IP information; and broadcasting an ARP request message to an external host via an EoS channel. The ARP processing method is performed using the EoS channel, thereby reducing unnecessary broadcast traffic packets.

  • Patent number: 7480295
Abstract: There is provided a method for supporting a multicast service in an Ethernet passive optical network system. Since an Optical Network Unit (ONU) system monitors an IGMP (Internet Group Management Protocol) message and informs the monitored result of an Optical Line Terminal (OLT) system so that the OLT system creates L2 multicast forwarding table using a multicast address and ONU ID information in a PON port, the ONU system transmits the multicast packet only to a corresponding subscriber on the basis of the L2 multicast forwarding table when receiving a multicast packet. Therefore, it is possible to transfer a multicast packet only to a specific ONU system belonging to a corresponding multicast address group among a plurality of ONU systems.
