    Abstract: A color electronic paper keypad device is provided that includes an electronic paper sheet having a plurality of electrode patterns. One or more of the plurality of electrode patterns displays a color depending on whether an electric field is applied. The device also includes a color display disposed over the electronic paper sheet. The color display changes the displayed color depending on whether a second electric field is applied. An illumination light reflects from or transmits through the color display to change the displayed color of the one or more electrode patterns. The device further includes a front light unit for illuminating said color display.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of preparing heavy metal nanoparticles using a heavy metal-binding protein. More specifically, relates to a method for preparing heavy metal structures, comprising the steps of: culturing a microorganism transformed with a gene encoding a heavy metal-binding protein, in a heavy metal ion-containing medium, to produce heavy metal structures in the microorganism; and collecting the produced heavy metal structures, as well as nanoparticles of heavy metal structures prepared according to said method. Unlike prior methods of preparing quantum dots by physically binding metal materials, en the quantum dots disclosed herein can be efficiently produced by expressing the heavy metal-binding protein in cells. In addition, the quantum dots are useful because they can solve an optical stability problem that is the shortcoming of organic fluorophores.

Specifically, the method comprises the steps of dispersing a solution of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) diluted in a solvent, on a substrate fixed to the upper part of an electromagnetic field generator, and fixing the carbon nanotubes aligned in the direction of an electromagnetic field generated from the electromagnetic field generator. According to the disclosed method, high-density and high-capacity carbon nanotubes aligned in the direction of a generated electromagnetic field can be fabricated in a simple process and can be applied as positive electrode materials for field emission displays (FEDs), sensors, electrodes, backlights and the like.

    Abstract: Disclosed are biocompatible polymeric nanoparticles for drug delivery and a method for preparing the same. They can be prepared by mixing a tri-block copolymer, PEG, and a drug at a predetermined temperature to give a homogeneous polymeric mixture; solidifying the homogeneous polymeric mixture at room temperature; and dissolving the solidified polymeric mixture in an aqueous solution. Based on a polymer melting process, the method makes it easy to produce poloxamer nanoparticles at low cost. The nanoparticles show desired particle sizes suitable for use in drug delivery and a uniform particle size distribution. Consisting of a bilayer structure, the nanoparticles can contain sparingly soluble drugs. Also, the nanoparticles contain no organic solvents and are thus safe to the body because they are free of organic solvent residuals.
