  • Publication number: 20080218440
Abstract: A PDP driving method. A falling ramp voltage is applied to a scan electrode so as to reset a state of wall charges of a discharge cell during a reset period. In this instance, a sustain electrode is maintained at a high voltage during an initial period for applying the falling ramp voltage, and the voltage at the sustain electrode is reduced to a normal voltage at a latter part of the period for applying the falling ramp voltage. Accordingly, the voltage applied to an address electrode is reduced in an address period since an erased amount of the wall charges of the address electrode is reduced during the reset period.

  • Publication number: 20080191971
Abstract: In a plasma display device and a driving method thereof, a switch for applying a voltage rising waveform to a scan electrode during an idle period and a first period is coupled between the scan electrode and a power source. The switch applies the voltage rising waveform having a first slope by being repeatedly turned on/off according to a first control signal during the idle period, and/or the switch applies the voltage rising waveform having a second slope (having a higher gradient than the first slope) by being repeatedly turned on/off according to a second control signal during the first period. As such, the scan electrode voltage is increased with the first slope during the idle period to perform a more stable reset operation. Also, when the idle period does not exist, the voltage of the scan electrode is increased within the first period to enable a normal reset operation.

  • Publication number: 20070246446
Abstract: A continuous butt welding method using plasma and laser, and a method for fabricating a metal tube using the butt welding method are disclosed. The butt welding method conducts a laser welding and a plasma welding together against an object to be welded, which has a very narrow butt space. In particular, the plasma is prior to the laser so that the object is preheated by the plasma, and then a preform is melted by a laser beam in order to accomplish the major welding. In addition, a metal sheet is bent to have a circular section so that its both ends are faced with each other, and then the faced both ends are welded using the aforementioned butt welding method, thereby fabricating a metal tube. The butt welding method and the metal tube fabricating method mentioned above remarkably improve a welding speed and productivity of metal tube.

  • Publication number: 20070200925
Abstract: Image concealment video conference allows the user to conceal their image with an overlay image that will be shown in real-time to a peer during video conference. The real-time video concealment processes an image in a video stream, where the video stream is communicated from one video conference unit to a second video conference unit over a communication network. The real-time concealment is performed by first determining the prominent biometric features of the users image to recognize nodal points on a human face. The system then modifies the users image using a second image, so that at least one of the nodal points in the users image is covered by the second image. This modified image is then transmitted in real time to a peer in a video conference session.
