  • Publication number: 20050285653
Abstract: The digitally programmable delay circuit to correct timing skew between data and clock is developed. The digitally programmable delay circuit may be built by cascading delay cells. The delay circuit uses delay cells comprising simple digital elements such as inverters and tri-state inverters to eliminate the intrinsic delay and achieves linearity and monotinicity. The delay cell may be used as a building module which is repeatedly used in a serial fashion. The delay range is fully programmable from the delay of one delay cell to infinity if the chip area is available. The delay range can be scaled by adding more delay cells.

  • Publication number: 20030092973
Abstract: A method for communication between inside and outside of a transmission medium using the transmission medium as a communication line, includes the steps of: receiving an electric signal having information related to a transmission medium from a plurality of sensors inside the transmission medium; conducting the electric signal to the transmission medium; and sensing the electric signal flowing to the outside of the transmission medium. Because a modulating unit is not necessary, a power consumption is minimized. In addition, since an electric signal is directly conducted to a medium, it is not necessary to use an antenna, and thus, degradation of a reception rate according to a directional property of the antenna can be prevented. Moreover, since the electric signal is directly generated in the medium and the medium is directly used as an electric conductor, the overall size of a transmitter is reduced.

  • Publication number: 20030064895
Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel gene for S-adenosyl-L-methionine:jasmonic acid carboxyl methyltransferase, a novel jasmonic acid carboxyl methyltransferase protein synthesized therefrom, and a novel transgenic plant transformed with an expression vector containing said gene. It has been known that said enzyme synthesizes jasmonic acid methyl ester using jasmonic acid and S-adenosyl methionine as the substrate and jasmonic acid methyl ester is a compound mediating the defensive reactions upon invasion of phytopathogenic organisms and harmful insects as well as a compound for regulating the plant growth. By introducing said novel enzyme which is specifically expressed in flowers into the plant body, a transgenic plant which exhibits a resistance against phytopathogens, harmful insects and stresses without causing any adverse effect on the plant growth can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 6339391
Abstract: A method and apparatus for optimizing crossover voltage for differential pair switches in a current-steering digital-to-analog converter or the like are disclosed. An array of at least one or more MOSFET switches may be utilized to control the crossover voltage of a differential pair of transistors such that the off time overlap of the differential pair transistors is optimized. In one embodiment, the pull-up and pull-down times of the input for the differential pair transistors are optimized such that the differential pair transistors are not turned off simultaneously. The array of switches may be n-channel MOSFETs when the differential pair are p-channel MOSFETs. Likewise, the array of switches may be p-channel MOSFETs when the differential pair are n-channel MOSFETs. The output of the diflerential pair is free of crossover glitches and is capable of being utilized in a data converter such as a current-steering digital-to-analog converter (DAC).
