Abstract: A data storage medium in which multiple bitstreams are recorded, an apparatus and method for recording the multiple bitstreams, and an apparatus and method for reproducing the multiple bitstreams are provided. The reproducing apparatus includes: a reading unit for reading main data including audio data and/or video data, and reading sub data recorded in a separate bitstream from the main data, which is later reproduced in synchronization with the main data; and a multiplexer for multiplexing the main data and sub data read by the reading unit. Therefore, multiple bitstreams can be read and reproduced at the same time.

Thus, large-capacity still picture data and audio data added thereto can be recorded and/or reproduced using a minimum amount of information. The still picture group information includes general information for still picture groups, and information for still pictures in each still picture group.

Abstract: Provided are a delay locked loop (DLL) and a method for generating a divided clock therein. In the DLL, a width of a reference frequency for phase comparison can be changed depending on a magnitude of an operating frequency. In the DLL, a clock buffer receives a clock equal to an external clock and generates an internal clock. An enable clock generator generates a 1-period enable clock or a 2-period enable clock using a command signal generated for performing a predefined operation. The command signal is generated according to an address command signal inputted from an exterior. A clock divider divides the internal clock to generate a divided clock. The divided clock is controlled by the 1-period enable clock or the 2-period enable clock, such that the divided clock is made to be a 1-period based dividing clock or a 2-period based dividing clock.

A reproducing apparatus for reproducing manufacturer information for supporting specific functions and a method therefor is also provided. If a recording apparatus modifies the contents of the recording medium, then it should record its manufacturer's identification code. A recording apparatus/reproducing apparatus should check the identification code on the recording medium before using its own manufacture information item for some specific function. Also, it is possible to reduce the time required to determine whether the manufacturer information items are effective.

Abstract: An inclined-type mobile communication terminal for opening/closing a main body using a link apparatus is provided. The inclined-type mobile communication terminal includes a first main body, a second main body, a driving unit, and a link unit. The driving unit is fixed to the first main body and provides a driving force required for moving the second main body. The link unit includes a driving link and a driven link. The driving link has its one side fixed to an output terminal of the driving unit and is rotated by the driving force of the driving unit, and has its other side rotatably connected with the second main body to move the second main body. The driven link connects the first and the second main bodies so as to guide a movement of the second main body using rotation of the driving link.

Abstract: A method of and apparatus for merging bit streams for seamless reproduction, and a recording medium for recording control information for bit stream merging. System clock reference (SCR) control information representing whether the SCR value of a bit stream is temporally discontinuous with respect to that of the preceding bit stream at the boundary between the two bit streams is recorded when the two bit streams are being merged. Thus, even where the SCR value at the boundary between merged bit streams rapidly changes when the merged bit stream is reproduced, seamless reproduction is accomplished. The SCR control information includes at least one among a control information identifier, a control information length indicator, a discontinuity indicator, and other information.

Abstract: In a memory device having an N number of banks, a refresh operation according to a piled refresh scheme is performed during a self-refresh mode to refresh the N number of banks in regular sequence when it is necessary to refresh all of the N number of banks. A refresh operation according to a Partial Array Self Refresh (PASR) scheme is performed during a self-refresh mode when it is necessary to refresh only an i number of banks (where 1<i?N-1) from among the N number of banks. During an auto-refresh mode, a refresh operation according to the piled refresh scheme is performed.

Abstract: Disclosed is a continuous process for the production of optically pure (S)-?-hydroxy-?-butyrolactone having constantly maintained optical activity, consisting of hydrogenating 2-50 wt % of a substituted carboxylic acid derivative in a solvent using a fixed bed reactor filled with a precious metal catalyst-impregnated inorganic oxide carrier at 50-500° C. under pressure of 15-5,500 psig at weight-space-velocity of 0.1-10 h?1, in which a molar ratio of hydrogen to carboxylic acid derivative ranges from 2 to 10. The desired material can be produced in higher optical purity and at higher yield by the current process which is relatively simpler and environmentally safer than conventional processes. Additionally, increased production efficiency leads to production of the desired material on a large scale.

Abstract: A lamp holder capable of minimizing lamp wire breakage, an LCD containing the inventive lamp holder, and a method for using the lamp holder to minimize lamp wire breakage and to facilitate connection of a lamp wire to a lamp are provided. The lamp holder includes: a lamp holder body having a coupling hole into which a lamp is inserted, the coupling hole having a first opening on one surface side and a second opening on a second surface side; a cut-away portion having a predetermined depth in a third surface side; and a stopper adjacent to the cut-away portion in the third surface side. The cut-away portion and the stopper facilitate connection of a lamp wire to a lamp in the lamp holder so as to minimize lamp wire breakage.
