The method includes: determining whether a missed event occurs; sensing a user's attention to the mobile terminal; and informing the occurrence of the missed event when the user's attention is sensed. Since the mobile terminal informs the occurrence of the missed event only when the user gives attention to his/her mobile terminal, the number of times for informing the missed event is reduced and damage of people around the mobile terminal and power consumption of the mobile terminal caused by sound or vibration of informing the occurrence of the event can be minimized.
