    Abstract: A briefing system is used to project images onto a projection screen to form a projection picture. The briefing system comprises a pointer, a projector and a computer electrically connected to the projector. The computer outputs an image signal to the projector. The projector projects an image corresponding to the image signal onto the projection screen to form the projection picture. The indicator is used to project an indication point. The projector also captures the image of the projection picture and the indication point and transfers the image to the computer. The computer then calculates a location where the cursor on the computer screen should reach according to the location of the indication point on the projection picture and moves the cursor on the screen to there.

    Abstract: A track type impact buffered input device is equipped with an extra weight buffer. When the input device is moved from a position to another by the user, the weight buffer will retard the motion of the input device with its increased inertia as if a reversed force were applied to the input device. Hence, the impact force imposed on the user's wrist is alleviated by the retarding effect of the weight buffer, and the user does not need to exert a large force to stop the input device at the new position or when a sudden change of moving direction is required, thereby preventing potential injury to the user's wrist by the impact force.

    Abstract: A semiconductor device is prepared by an annealing process to interconnect at least two components of the device by a conductor line surrounded by an insulator material. The annealing process results in formation of residual stresses within the conductor line and the insulator material. A notch is designed in the layout on a selective portion of the mask for patterning conductor line. The existence of a shape of notch on the selective portion generates extra stress components within the conductor line than if without the existence of the notch. The position of the notch is selected so that the extra stress components substantially counteract the residual stresses, thereby causing a net reduction in the residual stresses. The reduction in the residual stresses results in a corresponding mechanical stress migration and therefore improvement in the reliability of the device.

After an image input device reads a document, the pixel information and the pixel allowed error range are compared to determine whether the document is a color or black-and-white (BW) one. If it is a BW document, the image file is directly converted into a monochromic and grey-level one and stored in 8-bit or even 1-bit format, thereby reducing the storage space occupied by the image file.
