  • Publication number: 20150029205
Abstract: A method and system of enhancing a backlight-scaled image include a minimum perceptible luminance threshold of cone response with dim backlight being determined, and a luminance layer associated with an image being extracted. The luminance layer is decomposed into an HVS response layer and a background luminance layer for each pixel of the luminance layer. Luminance of dark pixels of the background luminance layer is boosted and compressed to a perceptible range above the minimum perceptible luminance threshold, thereby resulting in an enhanced background luminance layer. An enhanced luminance layer is generated through composition using the HVS response layer and the enhanced background luminance layer as inputs.

  • Patent number: 8830432
Abstract: The electrode structures in the display units of the liquid crystal display (LCD) panel described in the embodiments of the invention are formed by stacking the bottom electrodes, the insulation pattern layers, and the top electrodes. The width of each of the bottom electrodes is greater than the width of each of the top electrodes (i.e., the electrode structures have the protrusion-like shape). Therefore, the operating voltage can be effectively reduced, and the transmission rate can be improved.

  • Patent number: 8264158
Abstract: The present invention relates to a protection circuit for an alternating current light emitting diode which mainly comprises light emitting diodes placed in series and parallel with loads in a light emitting diode lamp device. When one of the light emitting diodes has been damaged, the current flows through the load in parallel with the light emitting diode and flows to the next light emitting diode. Only the damaged light emitting diode is off to keep from causing an open circuit in the overall circuitry and to prevent the overall lamp device from turning off and not emitting light. In addition to the device being easier to use, finding the damaged light emitting diode for replacement is faster, easier and more convenient when repairing the damaged light emitting diode, thereby greatly enhancing the usefulness and practicability of the protection circuit for an alternating current light emitting diode.
